We're looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Payroll Officer to help support the future growth of a customer focused, purpose driven and community-valued organisation.
This is your chance to step into a hands-on role where you will manage end-to-end payroll processing, support compliance with legislation, deliver a gold service standard and pursue ongoing improvements with the payroll function.
What You'll Be Doing
As a key role within the Corporate Head Office team, you'll:
· Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a high-volume workforce across multiple sites.
· Interpret and apply employee awards and contracts.
· Respond to payroll enquiries, providing accurate and timely support.
· Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure accurate data inputs.
· Maintain accurate employee records and payroll documentation.
· Assist with reporting, reconciliations, and audits.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll processes, systems and staff knowledge.
What You'll Bring
We're after an organised, reliable and proactive thinker who's ready to roll up their sleeves and make an impact. You'll need:
· 3+ years demonstrated Payroll Officer experience in full-function payroll, ideally within a high-volume environment.
· Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, the Fair Work Act, superannuation, employee leave entitlement and tax obligations.
· Experience using payroll and rostering systems (highly regarded).
· Strong MS Office skills with strong attention to detail.
· Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage competing priorities

We’re now seeking a Junior Finance & Operations Assistant to support our finance and office operations. This is an excellent early-career opportunity to gain broad exposure across accounting, compliance, and business administration in a professional financial services environment.
Role Overview
This is an entry-level role providing administrative and financial support to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the broader team. You’ll assist with day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll preparation, and general office administration, helping keep the business running smoothly.
The role is roughly 50% finance support and 50% operations support, with a focus on learning and building capability over time.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Support (50%)
Enter and maintain accurate financial records in Xero.
Assist with accounts payable and receivable processing.
Support bank and credit card reconciliations.
Help prepare payroll data (monthly) and track staff expenses.
Assist with BAS preparation, ATO filings, and other compliance documents.
Maintain organised digital files for financial and audit purposes.
Operations & Administration (50%)
Assist with day-to-day office administration and supplier coordination.
Maintain records for subscriptions, licences, and software tools (e.g. Microsoft 365, cloud storage).
Support staff onboarding/offboarding and internal record keeping.
Help prepare and format documents, presentations, and reports.
Provide administrative assistance, including data room administration, for projects in M&A, capital raising, and fund management.
Skills & Attributes
Certificate or tertiary qualification (or currently studying) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Some prior experience or internship exposure in bookkeeping, administration, or finance preferred (not essential).
Comfortable with Microsoft Excel and Office 365; experience with Xero or similar accounting software desirable; comfortable using AI applications.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Reliable, organised, and able to follow instructions carefully.
Ability to work independently.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily/weekly invoicing, reconciliation, and accurate coding of revenue transactions
Liaise with plan managers, families, and stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies and adjustments
Ensure compliance with NDIS Price Guide, Service Agreements, and internal financial policies
Oversee outstanding accounts, initiate collection processes, and liaise with NDIA regarding overdue debt
Process and reconcile company expenses and staff reimbursements efficiently
Manage fortnightly payroll and respond to payroll-related enquiries
Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts and maintain financial data integrity
Manage the month end process, including preparation of monthly financial packages for the Executive Leadership Team (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow reports, and variance analysis)
Manage lodgement of payroll tax and BAS on a monthly basis.
Maintain the fixed asset register, including processing monthly depreciation and amortisation.
Support annual budget planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CA/CPA qualified or working towards certification
Minimum 3+ years in financial accounting, preferably within disability services, healthcare, or NFP sectors
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) and Microsoft Excel/Google Suite
Knowledge of NDIS pricing, funding models, and compliance requirements (desirable)
Strong analytical, time management, and attention to detail skills
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
