We’re now seeking a Junior Finance & Operations Assistant to support our finance and office operations. This is an excellent early-career opportunity to gain broad exposure across accounting, compliance, and business administration in a professional financial services environment.
Role Overview
This is an entry-level role providing administrative and financial support to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the broader team. You’ll assist with day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll preparation, and general office administration, helping keep the business running smoothly.
The role is roughly 50% finance support and 50% operations support, with a focus on learning and building capability over time.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Support (50%)
Enter and maintain accurate financial records in Xero.
Assist with accounts payable and receivable processing.
Support bank and credit card reconciliations.
Help prepare payroll data (monthly) and track staff expenses.
Assist with BAS preparation, ATO filings, and other compliance documents.
Maintain organised digital files for financial and audit purposes.
Operations & Administration (50%)
Assist with day-to-day office administration and supplier coordination.
Maintain records for subscriptions, licences, and software tools (e.g. Microsoft 365, cloud storage).
Support staff onboarding/offboarding and internal record keeping.
Help prepare and format documents, presentations, and reports.
Provide administrative assistance, including data room administration, for projects in M&A, capital raising, and fund management.
Skills & Attributes
Certificate or tertiary qualification (or currently studying) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Some prior experience or internship exposure in bookkeeping, administration, or finance preferred (not essential).
Comfortable with Microsoft Excel and Office 365; experience with Xero or similar accounting software desirable; comfortable using AI applications.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Reliable, organised, and able to follow instructions carefully.
Ability to work independently.
