The Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the organisation meets its financial reporting, compliance and performance objectives. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Accounting, this position will take ownership of the month-end close process, prepare statutory financial statements, and lead shareholder reporting across multiple entities.
This is a diverse and hands-on role. One day focused on technical accounting and reconciliations, and the next mentoring team members or collaborating across finance functions to drive process improvement. The successful candidate will also contribute to key projects that enhance systems, policies and procedures, supporting ongoing business growth.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, solutions-focused finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys helping others succeed. We are seeking an organised and detail-focused Accounts Payable & Payroll Clerk to join our Brunswick office. This role supports both entities and is ideal for someone experienced in accounting administration who enjoys working in a professional yet down-to-earth team environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and reconcile supplier invoices (accounts payable)
Manage purchase orders and subcontractor claims
Prepare and process weekly payroll, including timesheets and leave records
Ensure compliance with awards, EBAs, superannuation, and taxation obligations
Maintain accurate financial records and assist with month-end reconciliation
Liaise with suppliers, employees, and management regarding payments and payroll
Provide general administrative support to the finance and project teams
2+ years’ experience in accounts payable, payroll, or bookkeeping
Proficiency in Xero (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Understanding of payroll compliance and superannuation requirements
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Construction industry experience highly regarded
Ability to work independently across multiple entities
