Key Responsibilities:

As a Driver Trainer, you will work alongside a team of experienced professionals and be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Conducting pre-employment driver assessments

• Delivering regular in-cab training and assessments for current staff

• Conducting licence upgrade training and Condition B removals

What We’re Looking For:

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 / TAE40122) or currently working towards it

• Proven ability to mentor new drivers and provide top-tier training

• Minimum HC licence (training and assessment provided for MC licence upgrade)

• Skilled in both automatic and non-synchromesh gearboxes

• High-Risk Work (HRW) licence

• Experience with general and temperature-controlled freight (highly desirable)

• Strong understanding of mass management, fatigue management, load restraint, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR)

• Flexibility with working hours and days to meet operational needs

About the role

As the Kennards Hire representative to our customers, we support you with the training and development you need to be successful in your role. The Casual Service Person Driver is the critical link between a Kennards Hire branch, our customers and their projects, big or small. You'll be in charge of everything that makes our customers' job easy; expert advice, pickups, deliveries and making sure our equipment is ready for hire.

This role requires you to;

• Instruct and demonstrate to customers on how to safely use our equipment.
• As the Driver, perform pickup and delivery of equipment from customer sites, which includes safely loading and unloading of equipment
• Provide exceptional customer service in all customer interactions
• Maintain the high standard and quality of equipment through regular servicing and minor repairs.
• Perform cleaning of branch facilities and maintenance of equipment as required
• Perform equipment 'check in' and 'check out' inspections

About you

• Successful applicants have come from various backgrounds such as; Customer service, building & construction, hospitality, retail, driver, landscaping, trade & maintenance.
• A valid driver's licence
• Availability to work on both weekdays and weekends
• This role requires some physical components including lifting and standing on your feet for long periods. A level of physical fitness is required and the ability to pass a drug test

As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of scrap metal throughout our facility. Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and organise scrap metal materials.

• Perform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure forklifts are in safe working condition.

• Maintain accurate records of materials moved, including weight, type, and location, and report any discrepancies to supervisors.

• Assist with managing scrap metal inventory to ensure optimal organisation and efficient workflow.

• Follow all company safety procedures, wear required PPE, and actively participate in creating a safe work environment.

• Collaborate with team members to complete tasks on time and contribute to a positive team culture.

Qualifications:

• Valid forklift certification required.

• Forklift Driver: Port Melbourne location. Day shift: 8am starts. Monday to Friday. Counterbalance forklift operator loading/unloading pallets & F.A.K (Freight of all kind), cubing freight and manual labour. MUST have prior transport yard experience. $39.92 p/h.

• Storeperson: Derrimut location. Day shift: 9:30am - 6pm. Monday to Friday. Picking & loading orders of steel onto flatbed trucks. $38.60 p/h.

• Yard Driver: Altona & Derrimut locations. Day shift: 6am, 7am & 9am starts. 3-5 shifts per week. MUST have FULL Australian Licence and ability to drive manual vehicles.
