About the role 

Avon Community Services provides a school bus service in Northam for primary and secondary school aged students who have challenges with school attendance.

This role drives a 22 seater bus on a bus route picking up students from their homes and transporting them to a Northam school, and returning them home safely after school. Currently the service supports approximately 50 students.

Morning shifts are 7.30am-9am and afternoon shifts 2.30pm-4pm (2.15pm -3.45pm Thursdays).

About you

To thrive in this role you will have:

  • A current Light Rigid (LR) driving licence or above

  • A current Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) authorisation

  • Clean driving history with no serious traffic offences or disqualifications

  • Be able to pass a pre‐employment physical examination

  • Commitment to child safety and wellbeing

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Ability to manage student behaviour calmly and professionally  

You will also be required to have and maintain a:

  • Working with Children Clearance (WWC)

  • A satisfactory National Police Clearance (NPC)
