About the Role

The JBS Beef City Plant is currently recruiting experienced Skilled Meat Workers to join our Processing team in a full-time capacity. As a Skilled Meat Worker, you will have previous experience with either Boning, Slicing or Slaughtering preferably within the beef industry. You will be passionate about your specialist skills, and be committed to providing a professional service. You will be prepared to show leadership qualities and provide support across the business to drive a culture of continuous improvement. This opportunity is ideal for anyone wanting to develop their skills within an industry leading, global organisation.  

This position has the potential to earn $65,835 or more with additional allowances and/or overtime.

Shift Options

  • Day Shift – Approx. 5am to 2:30pm

  • Afternoon Shift – Approx. 2pm to 11pm

About You

  • Previous experience (ideally 3+ years) in Boning, Slicing or Slaughtering/Sawing duties

  • Relevant qualification (Cert 2/3 Meat processing) advantageous but not essential

  • Knowledge and understanding of different rotations

  • Proven high level of knife sharpening skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of Quality Requirements

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to work with supervisors on improving daily duties

JBS Beef City is currently recruiting for all production floor positions throughout our Processing Plant. These are fast-paced physical roles with a focus on safety and quality.

All positions are full time, working Monday to Friday with optional overtime on Saturdays where available.

Entry level roles start at $25.86/hour (permanent positions - guaranteed 38.75 hours/week) plus a shift allowance for afternoon and night shifts.

Employees looking to further develop their skills within the meat industry may be offered additional training opportunities. Skilled Meat Worker roles attract a higher pay rate ($27.60/hour or more) which can be achieved within a few weeks once learners are assessed as competent. 

About You

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and work to time constraints

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a greater team

  • Ability to work safely around hazardous chemicals and hot water

  • Willingness to be vaccinated against Q-Fever. Our site will assist with organizing Q-Fever testing and if required vaccination
