We are seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Supervisor to lead commissioning activities for a major brownfields process plant expansion in Kwinana. Reporting to the Construction & Commissioning Manager and working closely with the Project Site Manager, this role will oversee commissioning across multiple disciplines — mechanical, process, electrical and instrumentation, piping, and controls — while coordinating civils, SMP, E&I, and fabrication subcontractors on site.

The position will plan and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning activities within an operational plant environment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate commissioning teams and subcontractors across civils, SMP, E&I, and fabrication scopes.

  • Plan, prepare, and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including scope definition, procedures, schedules, resourcing, and documentation.

  • Drive strong HSE performance and promote safe work practices across all site activities.

  • Manage commissioning execution, system handovers, completions, and punch list closure.

  • Liaise with engineering, construction, completions, and operations teams to meet schedule and quality objectives.

  • Identify and manage risks, interface issues, and resource needs.

  • Provide hands-on technical support and problem-solving during commissioning and start-up.

  • Maintain close communication between site and home office teams to ensure alignment on priorities and progress.

Skills and Experience

  • Trade or tertiary qualification in mechanical, process, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 15 years’ commissioning experience within oil and gas or heavy process facilities, including at least 10 years in construction and start-up.

  • Strong experience in onshore brownfields and operational environments.

  • In-depth understanding of permit-to-work systems, isolations, and completions processes.

  • Proven leadership, planning, and coordination skills across multiple subcontractors and disciplines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management systems.

  • Trade-qualified candidates will be considered towards the lower end of the pay range.
