About Us

At Ramelius Resources, gold mining isn’t just what we do — it’s who we are. From our early days at Wattle Dam to becoming one of Australia’s most respected gold producers, we’ve built our success on innovation, resilience, and a commitment to excellence.

With a strong pipeline of projects and a focus on sustainable growth, we’re investing in new technologies and exploration to shape the future of mining. But what truly sets us apart is our people. We foster a culture of opportunity, respect, and shared ambition — when you grow, we grow.

Our Mount Magnet Mining (MMG) operations include multiple open pit, underground, and satellite sites with a projected 17-year mine life. Active areas include Galaxy underground, Cue open pit, and Penny underground, with further expansion and exploration underway.

The Role

As Health & Safety Manager at Mount Magnet, you’ll lead the site’s HSE function, driving a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance across all health, safety, emergency response, and injury management activities. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll work closely with department leaders to embed best practices, support continuous improvement, and protect the wellbeing of everyone on site.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead the Health & Safety team to deliver effective systems, reporting, and compliance
  • Oversee emergency response, fitness for work, and injury management programs
  • Build strong relationships across departments to support safety performance and accountability
  • Monitor safety trends and lead initiatives to reduce risk and improve outcomes
  • Conduct audits, facilitate risk assessments, and oversee incident investigations
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and company HSE requirements
  • Develop and implement safety procedures, management plans, and continuous improvement strategies
About You

You’re a confident and capable safety leader with a strong foundation in occupational health and emergency response. With hands-on experience in mining or heavy industry, you bring a proactive approach to building safety systems, leading investigations, and driving compliance. You communicate clearly, act decisively, and know how to embed safety into every layer of site operations.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment, Healthcare, and Certificate III in Emergency Response
  • Leadership experience in mining or heavy industry environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to develop and implement safety systems in small operations
  • Skilled in incident investigations and risk assessment facilitation
  • High-level understanding of relevant health and safety legislation
  • Proficient in writing procedures, reports, and control documentation
  • Familiarity with INX software (InControl, InTuition, InFlight, LMS) – desirable
  • ICAM Lead Investigator accreditation – desirable
  • Exposure to underground and open pit mining, processing, maintenance, and haulage operations – desirable
This exciting site leadership opportunity is offered on a 4:3 FIFO roster from Perth, placing you at the heart of a growing gold producer during a strong phase of expansion. To attract top talent, a competitive salary package is on offer—featuring a generous short-term incentive scheme, health insurance rebate, and a range of additional benefits designed to reward your impact and commitment.
