About Willed - a startup on a mission

Willed is an exciting start up making end-of-life planning simple, affordable, and accessible for all Australians.

Having helped over 100,000 Australians write their Wills online, demand for funeral services saw us launch Willed Funerals. Willed Funerals is going from strength to strength, servicing Victoria, New South Wales, ACT and Queensland.

Our ethos is to provide great service and great value for money - something we do by using technology wisely but bringing great interpersonal skills into every interaction.

While families approach us in their moments of grief, we can make a world of difference in the way we engage and help them. If this ethos is one you share, you are the sort of person we want as Funeral Service Consultant.

And that’s where you come in.

About the opportunity

We are seeking an empathetic communicator with a high level of attention to detail to join our "At Need" Funerals team. Communicating through phone and email, the successful candidate will guide clients looking to arrange a direct cremation or a funeral service for their loved one.

It’s all in a day’s work when you’re part of the team at Willed. On any given day you will:

  • Respond to inbound calls and online enquiries from prospective clients seeking prepaid arrangements or facing imminent or immediate need for direct cremation, funeral, or memorial services—effectively converting these enquiries into confirmed arrangements

  • Coordinate the logistics and paperwork required for cremations and funeral services

  • Work closely with families to plan and coordinate and implement all aspects of a funeral service, informing them of the available options

  • Utilise and maintain our CRM

  • Support families in their time of need and provide updates along the way.

A core component of this role is achieving and exceeding sales targets by building rapport with clients quickly and by demonstrating high levels of customer service, product knowledge and credibility.

This position is based full time (Tues-Sat or Sun- Thurs Rotating Roster), this is a work from home environment and at times required to attend work off site.

Coverage of overnight and weekend standby shifts is also required. Note: Payment for standby shifts is in addition to generous base salary.

About You

You are an exceptional communicator with the ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A true team player, you're eager to make this role your own and become a passionate ambassador for the Willed brand.

You may have prior experience in the funeral industry or an empathy-driven role. Alternatively, you might have a proven track record in inbound sales, events or have worked in a high-energy call center, where customer interaction and service excellence are essential.

You possess:

  • Genuine Passion for Helping Others: A strong desire to assist individuals from all walks of life, particularly during their most vulnerable times, by providing compassionate care and exceptional customer service to ensure peace of mind.

  • Adaptability in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic setting. You will need to handle a variety of customer inquiries and adjust to different situations quickly.

  • Tech-Savvy and Process-Oriented: Comfortable using a wide range of technologies, and dedicated to following established processes to ensure accurate and efficient outcomes.

  • Quick to Learn New Skills and Processes: Ability to quickly pick up new tools, technologies, and procedures as needed. A proactive learner who is adaptable to change and open to acquiring new competencies.

What’s in it for you?

  • A generous remuneration package

  • The opportunity to work in a fast paced, growing startup environment

  • A supportive and collaborative work culture

  • Unlimited room for growth as the company expands
