Overview

We are a well-established construction company seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team. If you have a strong background in civil engineering and a passion for delivering high-quality construction projects, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review civil engineering drawings for residential and low-rise developments, including structural assessments such as load calculations, foundation design and drainage layouts.

• Use engineering design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar) to produce and support technical documentation.

• Review geotechnical reports, coordinate soil testing and evaluate materials, construction methods and engineering specifications to ensure compliance with Australian Standards and local council requirements.

• Assist in developing construction plans, schedules and resource requirements, and provide onsite engineering support through monitoring progress, identifying issues and recommending technical solutions.

• Liaise with subcontractors, consultants and internal teams to ensure works follow approved designs, review design variations and assess impacts on cost, schedule and compliance.

• Conduct regular site inspections to verify adherence to engineering specifications, the NCC and WHS requirements.

• Implement quality control procedures, ensure civil works comply with relevant codes and safety standards, and prepare engineering reports, technical notes and progress documentation for stakeholders.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or civil & Structural Engineering.

• Minimum 3 years professional experience in civil engineering across building, infrastructure or construction projects.

• Proven experience preparing construction plans, cost estimates, schedules, and managing design changes.

• Proficiency in common civil engineering software such as AutoCAD and other design or analysis tools relevant to project requirements.

• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, foundation design, load analysis, and structural assessment.

• Experience coordinating on-site labour, materials, machinery, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.

• Demonstrated experience conducting site inspections, material testing, and quality assurance.

• Effective communication skills, with experience preparing technical reports and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

• Mandarin–English bilingual skills are an advantage.

What you’ll be doing.

• Lead and manage plant engineering projects, including equipment installations, process improvements, and facility expansions, ensuring timely and effective project delivery.

• Develop and implement the site's 5-year capital plan with a focus on safety, obsolescence management, asset life extension, and driving technological innovation.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to clearly define project requirements, scope, deliverables, and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

• Create, monitor, and report on project plans, schedules, budgets, and progress, including conducting feasibility studies, risk assessments, and identifying solutions to overcome challenges.

• Supervise and technically support project teams to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and safety regulations; resolve project issues and bottlenecks promptly.

• Prepare detailed project documentation and reports; review and validate technical drawings and manuals; travel as needed to support project delivery and foster a culture of high service, proactive problem-solving, and respect.

What you’ll need to be successful.

• Minimum 3-5+ years’ project management and people leadership experience in FMCG with proven contractor, high-risk work, budget management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field).

• Strong initiative, prioritization, negotiation, and influencing capabilities.

• Expertise in lean manufacturing (TPM, Six Sigma, MDI) and knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, advanced Excel, and Office 365; high computer literacy and analytical ability.

• Knowledge of energy and carbon reduction technologies; effective report writing and presentation skills.

• Project Management Institute (PMI) talent triangle skills to implement Project Management standards.

• PMP certification desirable.

Your Opportunity

Our Cairns MRO facility provides high quality MRO, Avionics and Design Engineering for international and national customers predominantly onsite. As a key member of our maintenance, repair and overhaul team you will safely and efficiently execute Structures and composite maintenance activities. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer- Structures is responsible for performing a broad range of aircraft repairs and modifications on aircraft maintained by the company whilst ensuring safe work practices.

*Annual Salary AUD$70,772 - $86,134 plus Super plus OT plus Relocation Assistance

Your Responsibilities

• Ensure that the maintenance is carried out in accordance with OEM and other approved publications/instructions using approved parts supplied from approved sources.
• Make certain that you have been correctly trained and authorised to carry out the work assigned to them and that the procedures laid down in the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) are followed.
• Carry out repairs and modifications at the general direction of LAMEs or other authorised delegates in accordance with approved data
• Assist to carry out inspection and maintenance if required
• Assist to ensure all entries and certifications for work undertaken is completed and certified;
• Actively participate in the Quality and Safety Management System applications.
• Ensure OH & S/WHS requirements are adhered to.
• Ensure Approved Maintenance Data used is current and applicable.
• Ensure Tool control requirements are adhered to.
• Carry out aircraft washing and associated corrosion control inspection if required
• Work with the Quality and Aviation Safety Manager in the maintenance of Quality and Aviation Safety responsibilities including participation in audits, technical investigations as it applies to ‘Human Factors in Maintenance'.
• Work with the Supervisors and management to foster a sense of ‘Safety First' within the technical workforce.
• Maintain good relationships with the customer.
• Report and raise any observations, through the appropriate process, with regard to continuous improvement, safety management and customer satisfaction.
• Accountable for the creation and updating of work orders in a timely manner.
• Accountable for the write-up and sign-off of work completed each day.
• Contribute to the request and management of tooling during projects within the workshop and/or hangar.
• Contribute to workshop and general project housekeeping in line with 5S Program.
• Contribute towards the identification and reporting of all OHS issues through Jet Aviation Safety Management System (Jet Safe).
• Monitor the use of tooling; ensuring that the tagging system and cribmaster process is being used correctly with assigned individual tags and all tolling is returned after use
• Assist with monitoring of activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform component sanding and spray-painting.
• Perform component part removal and maintenance.
• Contribute towards the request, management and removal (un-issue) of spares during projects.
• Advise Supervising Hangar Engineers of work progress
• Monitor the identification of ASR's with Supervising Hangar Engineers.
• Other duties as may be directed to ensure operational and customer success.

What will help you succeed?

• Minimum Certificate IV in Aeroskills or equivalent qualification and/or experience
• Able to perform various types of aircraft maintenance.
• Experience working in an aircraft maintenance facility.
• Ability to work in a changing environments.
• Demonstrated understanding of aviation regulatory and safety requirements performing aircraft maintenance.
• Computer literate in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and Office Suite.
• Common courtesy and customer orientation
• Ability to work flexible schedules and in various weather conditions as well as meeting minimum physical requirements of the job.
