The Senior Payroll Officer is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant end-to-end payroll processing for a fast-growing hospitality group of 500+ employees. This role plays a key part in ensuring employees are paid correctly, system data is maintained to a high standard, award conditions are interpreted correctly, and payroll processes continuously improve.
You will act as a subject-matter expert in Deputy, collaborating closely with venue managers, HR, and Finance to ensure payroll integrity, provide guidance on award interpretation, and support payroll reporting and compliance activities.

The HR Administrator / HR Generalist provides hands-on support across the full employee lifecycle for a multi-venue hospitality group. This role ensures efficient HR operations, a high-quality employee experience, strong compliance, and smooth coordination between venues, managers, payroll, and the corporate team.
The position is ideal for someone who is organised, people-focused, and confident working in a fast-paced hospitality environment. It involves broad-ranging generalist responsibilities, including recruitment, onboarding, HR operations, performance management administration, award interpretation, compliance activities, and coordinating with external partners such as the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) and relevant system vendors.
A varied and fast-paced general accounts support role covering accounts payable and receivable, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, invoice processing, payroll assistance, financial reporting, and month-end tasks. You’ll support daily finance operations, assist cost-tracking, maintain accurate financial records across multiple venues, and help streamline processes as we grow. Work closely with our Finance Manager and venue teams to keep our expanding hospitality group running smoothly and efficiently.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities
This position will see you utilise your Management and Financial Accounting skills and experience.
Tasks and Duties
Assistance with monthly management reports, including commentary on variances
Budgeting and rolling forecasts for their business units
Monitor CAPEX and OPEX, including variance analysis
Consolidate financial information from various systems/sources
Completion of G/L reconciliations
Month-End closing, which includes system settlement and manual journal uploads
Dealing with accruals and pre-payments
Provide commercial support with tender cost evaluations and contract negotiation
Management of their fixed assets register.
Ad hoc project work and involvement in the continuous improvement process
Assist with the preparation of internal and external audit documentation
Ad-hoc support with projects as required by the team
Skills and Experience
Ideally, you will be a qualified Chartered Accountant / CPA
Good Excel skills, with a strong knowledge of SQL, data-tracking systems and Power BI
Previous experience with contract negotiation and tenders will be highly regarded
The ability to converse with departmental heads and operational leaders
Ability to multitask and manage your workload to ensure deadlines are met
Fluency in Mandarin

Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement the company’s financial strategy, risk control framework, budgeting processes, and financial reporting systems.
Lead and supervise the finance team to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all accounting activities.
Establish and improve financial policies, systems, and internal controls to identify risks and enhance financial efficiency.
Oversee and coordinate all tax-related matters, ensuring compliance across BAS, GST, ITR and other obligations.
Liaise with internal and external auditors and ensure a smooth and compliant audit process.
Maintain strong working relationships with external partners.
Monitor project-level financials, including cost control, budgeting, cash-flow utilisation, and project receivables.
Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/ACCA qualification is highly regarded.
3+ years of financial management experience in Australia; experience in property development or construction is preferred.
Solid experience working with audit processes and requirements.
Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution capabilities.
Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for end-to-end accounting and reporting functions across the business. You will also be involved in quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes for company clients as well as providing assistance to individual clients in relation to their annual tax returns and superannuation.
Your duties:
Assisting the business and clients in preparing their tax returns, quarterly and annual statements
Completing payroll activities on behalf of the company and clients (PAYG, Payroll Tax and Superannuation)
Formulating and analysing regular company reports such as BAS, Profit & Loss, Assets, Cash flow
Accurately preparing clients trial balance audit, P&L and BAS reconciliation for approval
Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements are met
Using and maintaining accounting systems
Assisting company directors with preparation of forecasts and the annual budget

Requirements:
Minimum 1-2 years of practical experience
