We are looking for a great match for a Financial Controller with a Customer of ours. This is also a role we know well. This role would suit someone who is passionate about in-house Accounting first and foremost and loves working as part of a small finance team, where what you do makes a difference.

Our Customer, an Adelaide-based organisation, has a national reach and is a leader in their field so you’ll need to be able to have your hands in the day-to-day detail and also be part of the bigger picture. This pivotal role demands someone with proven experience in EOM reporting, managing a dynamic cashflow position including all the aspects that feed into the ins and outs that are managed by your team. As the key finance person leading a team of three, you’ll be working closely with the CEO and other departmental mangers to ensure the financial systems and processes that lead to accurate and regular reporting give the business what they need to make key decisions effectively. The role is based just north of Adelaide’s CBD, with some flexible working options considered once the role is under your belt, if that's what you need. You'll have proven experience (+5 years) of working for a medium to large organisation and supporting internal departments in a Financial Controller role.

With an almost 20-year history, our Customer's team has high-level and hands-on experience across industrial and commercial industry sectors. Team members have played a significant role in the design and development of a substantial percentage of many major refrigeration projects across Australia over the last 25 years. They have extensive experience in the installation and maintenance of all types of industrial and commercial refrigeration systems, working across a diverse range of industries. Their projects range in value from a few thousand to many millions of dollars on simple to highly complex refrigeration projects across Australia and in Asia.

The Role:

  • Is 5 days a week but a 9-day fortnight would also be considered for the right candidate

  • Is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of financial controls, cashflow management and monthly reporting

  • Assists with the annual budget process and forecasting

  • Works under the CEO as part of a team of 4


Your Story:

This role’s ideal for you if:

  • You’re Degree and CPA qualified 

  • You have experience in a project-based revenue environment including software applications used in this environment including SimPro and XERO

  • You have deep experience experience in cashflow forecasting in a dynamic environment and in working capital management and have used cashflow forecasting tools like Futrli

  • You have demonstrated increased strategic insights about scope of control and decision-making, including understanding when stakeholders’ views need to be included in decisions, how these decisions impact the whole business and how to communicate this impact on those they affect

  • You love working independently but know how to lead and motivate a small, high-functioning finance team and integrate them with the rest of an organisation as a valued resource

  • You love the detail and make problem solving your priority, and have the capacity, vision and commitment to explore and implement innovation to improve day-to-day processing

  • You have an enquiring mindset that constantly asks questions to understand and learn and then apply this thinking and skills to the specific business context, including how you use the emerging tech in AI in your, and your team's, day-to-day

  • You have personal resilience around managing day-to-day challenges, feedback and ongoing learning
