Job Opportunity: Electrician / Crane Technician

About the role:

Due to continued business growth, Urban Cranes is seeking motivated Electricians to join our tower crane electrical and service team. Experience with tower cranes is highly regarded but not essential, we are keen to hear from qualified electricians with relevant industrial, mechanical, or plant-equipment experience who are eager to learn specialised tower crane systems. You will be involved in electrical installation, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting of electric tower cranes and associated equipment across Perth and regional WA. Training is provided, and you will work alongside highly experienced crane technicians.


About You:

To be successful, you must:

  • Hold a A-Grade Electrical Licence (mandatory)

  • Hold a Construction White Card (mandatory)

  • Hold a Working at Heights (mandatory)

  • Experience with heavy machinery, plant equipment, industrial electrical systems, or similar

  • Experience working safely at heights

  • Strong understanding of electrical safety and safe work procedures

  • Ability to fault-find, think independently, and work through technical issues

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies

  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor at all times

  • Have excellent communication skills

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems in heavy vehicles, such as trucks and trailers.

Role responsibilities
  • General auto Electrical work on trucks and other vehicles
  • Workshop and field service work when required
  • Air conditioning repairs and service
  • Diagnosis and troubleshooting workshop vehicles
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults in the electrical systems of heavy vehicles
  • Installing and configuring electrical components, such as batteries, alternators, and starter motors
