We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Tug Master to join our team in Geraldton, WA, on a 75% permanent part-time basis.

Working on a 6-week cycle, you'll complete 2 weeks as first order of pick, 2 weeks as second order of pick, followed by 2 weeks off. You will be required to be available for a minimum of 137 workdays per year (equivalent to 75% of full-time hours), which may include short-notice call-ins. A pro-rated fortnightly salary will apply.

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Taking command of the tug and leading a capable, safety-focused crew
  • Ensuring the vessel is operationally ready - from stores and crew attendance to daily checks
  • Maintaining compliance with safety procedures and maritime regulations
  • Supporting crew performance and development, and escalating issues when needed
  • Assisting with vessel maintenance and keeping operational records accurate and up to date
  • Leading safety onboard through inductions, drills, and ongoing training
  • Sharing your knowledge and helping build capability across the team



What You'll Bring

To thrive in this role, you'll bring:

  • A minimum Master 45m Near Coastal Certificate of Competency or equivalent
  • A Long-Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (LROCP) or equivalent
  • A valid AMSA Medical that matches your Certificate of Competency
  • Current Provide First Aid and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificates
  • Experience as a Tug Master operating ASD tugs is a must - this will help you step in with confidence

About the role

  • Start date: ASAP

You'll be:

  • Completing local metro runs, delivering and collecting empty pallets from customer sites
  • Using a forklift to move and load pallets (LF licence highly desirable)
  • Handling load restraint, throwing straps, and securing freight

What does the job look like?

This role would suit professional and a highly experienced MC Driver experienced moving general mining freight with triple road trains and related load restraint tasks.  This role works an 8/6 roster, 13 hour shifts, FIFO from Perth.  Key areas:
