CDC Victoria are currently looking for a dedicated and reliable Upholsterer / Trimmer to join our team at our Truganina depot.
For the right candidate, a 3rd or 4th year apprentice will be considered to complete their qualification with CDC.
Working on our large fleet of modern buses, you will be responsible for the following:
Dismantling the interior of buses
Repair & Re-trim bus seating
Replace linings and trim panels
Floor repairs
Internal refurbishment
Other duties as requirement
To be successful in this role you must have:
An uncompromising approach to health and safety;
Relevant trade qualifications, with experience preferably within the bus industry; (desirable)
Experience using hand tools
The ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team; and
Excellent communication skills.

This is a practical, physical role helping prepare equipment for major beach events — staging, branding, banners, tools, trailers, audio gear, apparel, and general event equipment.

Preparing event equipment in the Miami warehouse
Loading trailers and vehicles (up to 15–25kg lifts required)
Organising, cleaning and maintaining gear after events (flags, tools, banners, audio equipment, etc.)

Counting and organising merchandise (e.g., t-shirts, sizes, stock checks)
Helping keep the warehouse tidy, safe and efficient

About the Role
As part of our Events team, you will be the driving force behind our weekday & weekend deliveries, with some late-nights and Sunday shifts included. Your role will involve interacting with our valued customers and event staff, ensuring that our hire equipment and furniture are set up to perfection. You will need to be a master of multitasking, with a keen eye for detail, the ability to work unsupervised and a can-do attitude.
Your duties will include:
Driving, delivering, and setting up event hire equipment to and from the warehouse to various venue locations.
On-site set up and installation of event hire items.
Loading and unloading trucks, ensuring items are secured safety for transport.
Physical fitness – tasks include lifting, moving as well as using trolleys to transports items to their designated locations.
General labour and manual handling activities.
General warehouse duties including reorganising equipment, sweeping, intermittent cleaning duties, installing products, unpacking new products.
Communicating with customers face to face upon delivering and collecting equipment as well as some self-pickup customers.
What we are looking for:
Flexibility – You must be able to adapt to the dynamic nature of event schedules. Days, start and finish times will vary each week depending on events. You must be available to work weekdays, weekends and occasionally late nights.
You must hold a full Australian Driver's License and must be comfortable driving a small truck and vans.
Possess physical strength and fitness. Ability to comfortably carry up to 20-30kg.
Great communication and organisational skills. Be able to liaise with operational staff, customers and event organisers when required.
You must be punctual and reliable.
Demonstrate punctuality, helpfulness, the ability to work unsupervised and a commitment to the overall success of the team.
Demonstrate high attention to detail to follow instruction and ensure correct number of items are being delivered and collected.
Experienced in use of forklift/walkie stacker (license not required).
Proficient in use of tying down equipment, engaging small truck tail lift
Ability to work autonomously and have self initiative
Experience in event work environment, sales or courier/delivery driving
Minimum of 1-2 years of driving experience is required for this position.
Australian permanent residency is required for this role.
