Requirements:

About the role
Synectix Enclosure Systems is seeking a Truck Driver MR & trailer combination to join our team in Dandenong South, VIC. This is a full-time role responsible for safely transporting goods and materials into country Victoria and the Melbourne metro area. As a key member of our logistics team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient delivery of our products to our customers.
What you'll be doing
Safely operate a medium rigid truck with trailer combination to transport goods and materials
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and address any issues
Adhere to all relevant road rules, regulations and company policies and procedures
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including timesheets and logbooks
Assist with loading and unloading goods as required
Provide excellent customer service to our clients
Work with our logistics team when there are no driving duties
What we're looking for
Current Medium Rigid (MR) driver's licence with the ability to operate a trailer combination
Driving record with minor infractions acceptable, however no major violations
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Truck Driver in the road transport industry
Current fork lift licence is an advantage
Knowledge of Victorian road rules and regulations
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Physically fit and able to assist with manual loading and unloading
Australian permanent residency required for this position

Who would this role suit?
· An experienced MC driver who is physically fit but no longer wants to work full time - and just can’t sit still.
· Someone who wants a permanent part time gig working just 5 / 6 days per fortnight (= approx 65/70 hours).
· A driver with experience working on unsealed roads, in remote areas and in various weather conditions.
· Someone who can travel and work in a 2-person team (but NOT the usual 2 up!). Sharing the workload & driving.
· You must hold a current MC licence, be comfortable with the road ranger gear box, speak and understand English well, and pass all drug & alcohol testing.
· Ideally applicants will have the required Fitness to Drive medical, load restraint, fatigue awareness certificates (training may be provided to assist in achieving these for the right candidate)
· A driver who has some sound experience and who is willing to think outside the box to get the job done, where necessary even get your hands dirty (changing tyres etc as necessary!)
What does the job entail?
· Driving a Western Star (road ranger gear box) with a B Double set on a scheduled supply run once a fortnight (approx 3,000km round trip), approx 1/3 on unsealed roads
· Load and leave Tuesdays (fortnightly)from our Rockingham, WA depot
· Stopping at each required site
· loading / unloading freight using a forklift / manitou
· stocking & stacking parts in stores
· Away from home for 4 nights for per fortnight (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday)
· Accommodation supplied each night – no sleeping in the cab
· Travel as a team of 2 – share workload and driving duties
· No night driving
· Completing paperwork as required
