The Role

Key Responsibilities
· Perform general repairs and maintenance, including furniture, fixtures, equipment, and OH&S requirements.
· Supervise contractors and liaise on tasks such as pest control.
· Maintain gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces, including mowing, weeding, pruning, and waste removal.
· Set up and pack down furniture and equipment for events such as Open Days, Parent/Teacher Interviews, Graduation, fetes, and sports events.
· Apply fertilisers, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides safely under supervision.
· Assist with security procedures, fire drills, and emergency protocols.
· Operate and maintain turf and garden machinery safely.
· Support the Grounds Manager and wider team to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
· Undertake other duties as directed by the Principal or their delegate.
Hours
Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm (earlier start/finish over summer). Some flexibility is required for occasional weekend or evening work.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
· Experience in grounds or property maintenance.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
· Current Working with Children Check and driver’s licence.
· Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures.

Undertaking scheduled preventative maintenance checks on plant equipment
Daily pre and post start plant checks
Rotating, adjusting, and replacing parts and equipment where required to ensure greater efficiency in the facility
A strong focus on the facility's conveyor belts
Responding to site breakdowns, identifying faults and complete repairs
Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment
Studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable machinery settings, materials, and method of operation
Cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes, lines, and tubes.
