About the role 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our Strategic Integrated Stormwater Team. 

As our new Stormwater Projects Engineer, you will make a difference daily by providing engineering insight and support across the team.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide advice in relation to public and corporate enquiries regarding integrated stormwater matters of a general and specific nature, including providing stormwater design advice.
  • Provide technical direction and conditions for Building, Town Planning and Subdivisional development referrals within statutory timeframes.
  • Investigate and action stormwater matters including flooding and stormwater quality and stormwater harvesting requirements.
  • Collect and analyse data for the preparation of stormwater strategies and catchment master plans as requested.
  • Undertake investigations, provide technical advice and prepare technical reports on stormwater-related matters, including amendments to existing strategies, guidelines and standard drawings.
  • Accurate and timely completion of communications and correspondence.
  • Support the delivery of Capital Works projects including investigation, design, and procurement.
  • Actively participate in discussions with State and Federal Authorities (such as the Department of Transport & Planning, Department of Energy, Environment & Climate Action, etc.), Utility Service Providers, Telecommunications, Water Authorities, Local Councils and other planning and development related authorities regarding provision of integrated Stormwater services.
  • Actively participate in Council’s approach to performance, development and review process Work & Development Plan. Your Work & Development Plan is the opportunity to bring your whole self to work through celebrating your talents and strengths and supporting your performance and development.
  • This role may also be required to carry out other such duties as are within the limits of the employee’s skills competence and training.

This is a full-time permanent/temporary role based at Knox City Council's Civic Centre in Wantirna South. We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.

This is a Band 6 classified role. Remuneration will be $98,353.35 to $107,416.64 gross per annum (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee. 

What you will bring to this role  

The key selection criteria for this role are: 

  • Experience in the Integrated Water Management (IWM) industry including the design or management of stormwater systems and flood investigations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the application of hydrologic estimation, hydraulic design, Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and IWM principles with proficiency in the application of engineering theory, procedures, practices, Acts & Regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the application of hydrologic estimation, hydraulic design, Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and IWM principles with proficiency in the application of engineering theory, procedures, practices, Acts & Regulations.
  • Experience in the project management of civil (particularly stormwater) projects.
  • Experience in the use of engineering design tools is required. Experience using QGIS, MapInfo, AutoCAD, Civil Site Design and TUFLOW is highly desirable but not essential.

We are currently seeking an Electrical Project Engineer with LV experience to join our Transport for Tomorrow team on our Rail Infrastructure Upgrades project. 

Transport for Tomorrow is a partnership between Laing O’Rourke, KBR and Transport for NSW.

Transport for Tomorrow is delivering infrastructure upgrades and modifications of existing rail infrastructure at train stations and stabling yards across NSW, to accommodate the new Regional Rail fleet and facilitate the operation of the modified Mariyung Fleet in line with agreed operating model changes.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the design, construction, installation and commissioning of low voltage electrical systems on new infrastructure. This includes electrical systems in station buildings, structures and any associated facilities or systems required for the operation of the railway.
  • Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities of the project to ensure that project plans are implemented in accordance with designs and specifications.
  • Ongoing monitoring and reporting of work progress.
  • Direct interface with the construction crews to collect data on information required for project status, cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Provide direction and supervision for Site Engineers, as required.

We are a Gold Coast-based structural and civil engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative projects across the region. As we continue to expand, we’re seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team, contributing to exciting developments in commercial, education, healthcare, and high-rise sectors.

The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll be an essential part of a close-knit team working on significant local projects. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers, clients, architects, and contractors, supporting the design, technical decisions, and project delivery. You won’t be leading projects, but you’ll have plenty of room to develop your skills and contribute meaningfully to project success.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in the design and delivery of Gold Coast and Brisbane-based commercial, high-rise, and institutional projects

  • Work closely with senior engineers to implement design solutions and refine project plans

  • Support the preparation of calculations, drawings, and reports

  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project success

  • Use structural design tools like SpaceGass, Inducta, RAPT, RAM, Structural Toolkit, and ETABS

  • Civil tools like Civil 3D, Drains.

  • Enjoy a flexible work environment and family-friendly flexibility

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of civil and structural engineering experience

  • 2+years of civil and structural engineering experience in Australia out of the 5 years

  • Strong practical skills in concrete and steel design

  • Experience working as part of a design team on building projects

  • Ability to support Project engineers and contribute to project solutions

  • Ideally working towards CPEng or CEngT

  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams
