We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our growing team. This role is critical to our business success, providing accurate cost assessments and competitive pricing for our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects from architectural plans and specifications
- Analyse project requirements, drawings, and specifications to determine scope of work
- Source and obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
- Prepare tender submissions and bid documentation within specified deadlines
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and potential challenges
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of material costs, labor rates, and market conditions
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to clarify project requirements
- Review and evaluate subcontractor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Maintain organized records of estimates, quotes, and correspondence
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator in residential and commercial construction
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel essential)
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of Australian building codes and standards
Desired Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field
- Experience with estimating software such as Buildsoft, Estimating Link, or similar
- Understanding of South Australian building regulations
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to clarify project requirements

Reporting to the Project Manager and/or Site Supervisor, these positions will provide effective hands-on supervision of the project workforce to deliver contracted works in accordance with the client program. This role will be responsible for effective management of workers including subcontractors, planning and monitoring daily schedule of work, regular communication with site leadership and other stakeholders, encouraging a positive safety culture, and ensuring quality, safety, and environmental systems are met.

About the role
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, timely and high quality estimates that support successful project outcomes.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely estimates for residential and commercial building projects, including quote requests, variations, building reports, and final settlement reviews
* Review and interpret project documentation (plans, specifications, engineering reports) to prepare compliant and cost-effective estimates.
* Ensure all estimates meet QBCC/HBCF requirements, building codes, and company policies
*Liaise with clients, builders, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing, clarify project requirements, and negotiate competitive rates
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry cost trends
* Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities to standardise estimating practices and increase efficiency
* Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring estimates are delivered on time and to a high standard of accuracy
* Collaborate closely with Construction, Operations, and Project Management teams to ensure alignment on scopes, costings, and project deliverables
Skills & experience
* At least 2-3 years' experience in estimating within the building or construction industry
* Strong technical knowledge of building practices, construction materials, and estimating processes
*Proficient technological skills with the ability to use estimating software, Google Suite, and communication tools
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, compliant estimates under time pressue
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders

The Role
CWW has begun rapidly expanding into the Newcastle region, this is a fantastic opportunity for a Estimator to join our existing local team and assist with driving new business with constant support from the Senior Estimator and Director.
This role will give you exposure to the full project lifecycle, from receiving and managing tender invitations, review of client requirements through project documentation, understanding client expectations through communicating with their site team, conducting cost analysis to ensure accurate tender submission, follow up with key personnel post-award and project delivery.
The ideal candidate should have a strong desire to fast-track their career within a rapidly growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of tenders, contracts, and other construction-related documentation.
Measuring drawings and compiling trade specific Bills of Quantities to ensure our team has the most accurate information for tender submission.
Conduct detailed reviews of project specific Scope of Works and ensure accuracy with our tender submission
Conduct regular market research to gain an understanding of material costs, labour costs, equipment hire and the latest waterproofing systems.
Follow up with prospective clientele post-tender submission and maintain communication until award.
Gain practical experience in construction site procedures and processes.

What we are looking for:
A Degree or Diploma within the Building and Construction industry.
>5 years experience working as a Estimator in commercial/residential construction. (preferred)
High computer literacy with the ability to read and interpret drawings proficiently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take direction.
Developing strong organisational and project management skills.
Passion for the construction industry and a willingness to learn.
Waterproofing or remedial construction experience is desirable.

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. Purpose of the Role:
The Fixed Plant Superintendent will support the Fixed Plant Manager in the coordination and management of the fixed plant equipment needed to support the Snowy 2.0 project, particularly the installation, commissioning, running, maintenance and decommissioning. The role will also oversee the utility / services installation and maintenance on the Snowy 2.0 project.
