The Opportunity on Offer

As a Personal Care Worker you will provide support which considers the residents physical, spiritual, social and cultural needs and which enables residents to maintain their own wellbeing and independence for as long as possible. You will be responsible for the delivery of care and services to residents in all areas of activities of daily living in accordance with the residents identified needs and preferences.

You will report to the Registered Nurse in Charge of the Home and be a key member of the team. Some of the key responsibilities of the role are:

  •    Supporting residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and hygiene
  •    Supporting and assisting residents with food and fluids as required
  •    Assisting the nursing staff with treatments as directed
  •    Assisting the nursing staff by observing and reporting promptly any changes in the condition or wellbeing of residents.

Our Family Violence team is part of Each’s Child, Youth & Family Wellbeing stream. We support children and families to heal from family violence, offering confidential counselling and practical support to help process experiences, build confidence and safety, strengthen family bonds, and connect with community. Services are delivered across four sites in South East Melbourne, with outreach and after-hours work based on program needs.

Your role, your impact

As Team Leader, you will lead, mentor, and support a dedicated team of practitioners and peer workers, ensuring high-quality, customer-focused services for families affected by violence and trauma. You will build confidence and safety for clients, strengthen family bonds, and connect families with their communities. Your leadership will help create a safe space for healing and growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, support, and motivate a multidisciplinary team, providing clinical and operational supervision, training, and guidance.
  • Ensure services are customer-focused and of high quality, complying with all standards.

  • Sector knowledge of children and family violence services and compliance requirements.
  • Mandatory: Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with MARAM, Child Wellbeing Framework, mandatory reporting, privacy laws, and ethical standards.
  • Valid driver’s license.

About the employee role

Care to join the team?
We're seeking TWO compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse's to join our Oncology Centres in the Gold Coast. You'll have the opportunity to work across our Southport and Tugun sites, on a part-time basis, offering flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

You'll become part of a close-knit team of experienced nurses who are committed to delivering high-quality, best practice care in Radiation Oncology. Working alongside our multidisciplinary team, you'll play an integral role in providing patients with a supportive and exceptional treatment experience. While prior experience in oncology nursing is highly regarded, it's not essential. Our friendly and knowledgeable team is here to provide full support and training.

More specifically, you will:

  • Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patient's physical and psychological needs are met.
  • Undertake direct patient care including education, wound management and medication administration as per Practice Protocol.
  • Effectively manage the patients that are seen each day.
  • Facilitate effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physicists and radiation therapists and provide feedback and up to date information regarding patients.
  • Ensure all patient interaction is documented, communicated and actioned.
  • Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
  • Ensure medication management protocols are followed.
  • Use ISBAR communication tool for handover of patients and communication with allied health services along with documentation.
  • Demonstrate reliability, motivation and flexibility.

We're interested in hearing from people who:

  • Have a current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Have a minimum 2 years post graduate experience (preferred).
  • Hold a background in oncology nursing, but not essential. Training in radiation oncology nursing will be provided.
  • Possess exemplary interpersonal communication skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy for all patients and their carers.
  • Have well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Show commitment to the application of best practice principles and quality improvement including the NSQHS.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Are experienced in wound care management.
