Your new role

The Role

What does the typical day look like?

Start your day by picking up the bus from our lovely facility in Hunters Hill, then hit the road to take residents on exciting outings and to important appointments. You’ll assist residents, getting on and off the bus, all while building genuine relationships and keeping things fun! After each trip, give the bus a good clean and safety check so it’s ready for the next adventure.

Your duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Safe Transportation: Drive residents to outings, excursions, appointments, and shopping, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.

  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct weekly vehicle safety inspections and complete necessary documentation. Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as topping up fluids, and report any significant repairs to the Corporate Services Manager.

  • Resident Assistance: Assist residents with entering and exiting the bus, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience. Help load and unload items like picnic tables, chairs, and activity boxes when required.

  • Vehicle Presentation: Maintain cleanliness and good presentation of the 12-seater bus, both inside and outside, to meet high standards.

  • Quality & Safety Checks: Complete risk assessments and ensure all vehicles pass the Vehicle, Quality, and Safety Checklist.

  • Twilight Values: Presents respectful, compassionate and a caring image to residents, staff, relatives and visitors in all interactions.

Shifts available

  • Working across our 5 homes in the north of Sydney

About you

Demonstrating experience in a similar role, you will have proven yourself as a Driver who treats residents in a respectful and courteous manner. Further, you will have:

  • An up to date Police Check/NDISWC

  • A valid NSW Drivers License (no special license needed)

  • Previous experience working as a bus driver

  • Previous experience working in community or aged care would be highly regarded

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills

Day to day you will assist with managing a defence pool vehicle fleet of 24 vehicles, which include range of vehicles such as sedans, people movers & cargo vans.

  • Manage all self-drive vehicle bookings for the pool vehicle fleet, including updating the bookings spreadsheet & sending out conformations to customers
