About the opportunity  

We’re looking for a Yard Truck Driver/Freight Handler to join our diverse and hard-working team. With e-commerce booming, our freight handlers are the folks making sure consignments are correctly loaded so we can get deliveries out to our customers, fast. This role is combined as a Yard Truck Driver as well, completing approximately 50 moves within Depot.


Roster / Pay

  • Monday to Friday
  • 5.30am - 1.30pm (7.5 work hours per day)
  • Upgraded to $36.14ph as Yard Truck Driver ($33.14ph Freight work)
  • + 12% Superannuation
  • + Leave entitlements


You’ll be

  • Predominantly doing Yard Truck operations.
    • Opening rear doors, crack seals, inspect freight
    • Determine where freight needs to go - this skill will be developed
    • Placing items where they need to go or carting to a different area
    • Ensuring set up sheets are followed
    • Answering 2 way calls for movements across the depot
  • Freight Handling as required:
    • Handloading parcels and cartons from conveyor belts into trucks, ready for our drivers to head out on the road.
    • Unloading trucks when drivers get back to the warehouse. 
    • Wrapping freight by hand or using a shrink wrapper (you know - like the ones at the airport), electronically scanning parcels and updating documentation. 


About you 

  • You’ve got a HC truck licence.
  • You’re fit and can lift at least 30kg repeatedly – we assess this at a pre-employment medical check to help make sure you’re safe on the job.
  • You’re laser focused, even when the role gets repetitive. 
  • You’re a team player, passionate about helping our team keep the community connected. 
  • You’re also an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Light to medium repetitive lifting will be required as loading and unloading will include aluminium door and window frames, and occasionally fully assembled windows, screens, etc. there will be some time spent in the yard on occasion to load your truck and restrain with straps.




About you:

  • Must have current HR licence
  • Can competently reverse a trailer!
  • Able to lift awkward loads (e.g. large double door frames)
  • Know your way around the metro area; experience delivering in these areas favourable
  • Attention to detail; need to be accurate with paperwork
  • Can-do attitude

Your Role as Driver Trainer 

As the Driver Trainer for Community Transport Service (CTS), your role is pivotal in ensuring that community members have access to safe and reliable transportation services. You will work closely with a team of volunteers and oversee and be responsible for managing the fleet of vehicles used to provide transportation services to community members in need whilst maintaining a focus on safety and compliance which will contribute significantly to the success of our service.

You’ll enable community members to travel safely with greater independence by: 

  • Developing and delivering training programs for volunteer drivers, covering safety, customer service, vehicle care and emergency procedures

  • Overseeing vehicle fleet maintenance to ensure all vehicles are safe, clean, and roadworthy

  • Supporting the Senior Coordinator with additional duties as required

  • Coordinating regular inspections, maintenance, and accurate record-keeping of the fleet

  • Staying up to date with industry standards and implement improvements to enhance service delivery

What We’re Looking For 

  • Business related qualification and relevant experience; or significant relevant work experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience communicating with aged care and people living with a disability.
