The Role:

Indie College Midland is seeking a full time Lead Trainer and Assessor (Lead Coach) to deliver alternative Education Programs in Midland.

Indie College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that provides alternative accredited education and training to support both youth and adults re-engage into education and training. In partnership with Indie School we offer alternative educational programs supporting a mixed cohort including disengaged youth, adults with low literacy and numeracy skills and people with a disability. Core Workplace Objectives

  • Effectively manage the day to day running of the allocated Indie College site/s.
  • Provide a flexible supportive approach to teach and mentor students in small groups of up to 10 students.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of, RTO standards, function of Training Packages, requirements of ASQA and VET related funding bodies.
  • Have knowledge to demonstrate current industry skills directly relevant to the training being delivered.

  • Promote and recruit students who would benefit from the program. 
  • Manage, provide support and training to Coaches and lead by example.
  • Conduct creative and technical development work in relation to program delivery. 
  • Assist with program enquiries and conduct Leaner Enrolment interviews, including Pre ACER testing and associated paperwork
  • Align Leaners with suitable Coaches and facilitate the setup of small groups 
  • Complete aXcelerate input as required.
  • Complete spot check audits on coach files and conduct coach critiques monthly.
  • Meet monthly enrolment targets 
  • Maintain up to date Trainer and Assessor/student lists and forward plan for completions/withdrawals.
  • Monitor reports including overdue outcomes, attendance, scanning and student fees.
  • Audit all completed files promptly.
  • Monitor Credit Card expenses for Coaches. 
  • Create a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Efficient management and utilisation of resources.
  • Manage available coaching staff to best accommodate other programs
  • Attend Company meetings, host site team meetings and produce reports and minutes for these meetings as required
  • Adopt safe working practices and compliance with WH&S policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Regional Manager, Business Manager and Deputy Chief Executive Officer with other duties as required. 

For this position with our company, applicants must:

  • Demonstrated experience in vocational education and training including a working knowledge of Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and National Vet Regulator (NVR) Standards
  • Ability to develop, plan, implement and manage multiple projects

Indie College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that provides alternative accredited education and training to support both youth and adults re-engage into education and training. In partnership with Indie School we offer alternative educational programs supporting a mixed cohort including disengaged youth, adults with low literacy and numeracy skills and people with a disability. We strive to develop literacy and numeracy skills, build confidence, support goal setting and develop sustainable employability skills.   

All Trainers and Assessors must, hold a current Australian Driver’s License, hold current qualifications equal to or above the qualification being delivered or be willing to obtain these qualifications, as well as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) including LLN units.

Core Workplace Objectives

  • Effectively manage the day to day running of the allocated Indie College site/s.
  • Provide a flexible supportive approach to teach and mentor students in small groups of up to 10 students.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of, RTO standards, function of Training Packages, requirements of ASQA and VET related funding bodies.
  • Have knowledge to demonstrate current industry skills directly relevant to the training being delivered.

Workplace Tasking & Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuous compliance against standard operating procedures. 
  • Promote and recruit students who would benefit from the program. 
  • Manage, provide support and training to Coaches and lead by example.
  • Conduct creative and technical development work in relation to program delivery. 
  • Assist with program enquiries and conduct Leaner Enrolment interviews, including Pre ACER testing and associated paperwork
  • Align Leaners with suitable Coaches and facilitate the setup of small groups 
  • Complete aXcelerate input as required.
  • Complete spot check audits on coach files and conduct coach critiques monthly.
  • Meet monthly enrolment targets 
  • Maintain up to date Trainer and Assessor/student lists and forward plan for completions/withdrawals.
  • Monitor reports including overdue outcomes, attendance, scanning and student fees.
  • Audit all completed files promptly.
  • Monitor Credit Card expenses for Coaches. 
  • Create a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Efficient management and utilisation of resources.
  • Manage available coaching staff to best accommodate other programs
  • Attend Company meetings, host site team meetings and produce reports and minutes for these meetings as required
  • Adopt safe working practices and compliance with WH&S policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Regional Manager, Business Manager and Deputy Chief Executive Officer with other duties as required. 

For this position with our company, applicants must:

  • Demonstrated experience in vocational education and training including a working knowledge of Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and National Vet Regulator (NVR) Standards
  • Ability to develop, plan, implement and manage multiple projects
  • Have strong interpersonal skills;
  • Have the ability to work as part of a strong team.
  • Be highly organised and have strong attention to detail;
  • Have experience and/or demonstrated ability in working with youth;
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines;
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills;

Essential requirements to verify before commencement:

  • Current Driver’s licence
  • Annual National Police Check (completed in the 3-months prior to appointment)
  • Current Working with Children’s Check-in State/s of operation

  • Level 11 - $95,435 per annum plus superannuation
