The Opportunity

The newly created, hands-on Advanced Therapeutics Program Manager role will support the establishment of the Advanced Therapeutics Coordinating Centre (ATCC), a strategic collaboration between UNSW, the NSW Government, and the Cancer Institute NSW.

The pilot phase will coordinate several cancer therapy clinical trials in partnership with Scientia Clinical Research (SCR), Omico, and industry collaborators, focusing on evaluating personalised and off-the-shelf RNA cancer vaccines. You’ll deliver and oversee, with support through the UNSW Clinical Research Unit operational structure, the operational, administrative, and governance functions of the pilot, support the ATCC steering committee, and coordinate trial setup, execution, and monitoring. Responsibilities include stakeholder communication, ethics and governance management, and site engagement, ensuring projects are efficiently delivered.

This role will be primarily located in The Health Translation Hub (HTH) a flagship UNSW initiative uniting researchers, clinicians, educators, industry, and public health leaders to accelerate the translation of research and innovation into better patient care and community health outcomes.

Taking this combined approach is what makes our work matter. It’s the reason we’re Australia’s number one university for impact and among the nation’s Top 20 employers. Who you are

You hold tertiary qualifications in health, science, or a related field and/or at least 10 years of project management or coordination experience in a clinical research or academic setting, as well as a deep understanding of the project life cycle and the strategic development of project plans, objectives, and documentation. You also bring detailed knowledge of ICH-GCP standards, along with national ethical and regulatory requirements for human research, and a strong grasp of clinical trial coordination processes, including ethics and site governance. Experience in coordinating networked clinical trials or vaccine-related research will be highly valued.

You have advanced written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality deliverables. Your strong consultation, negotiation, and influencing skills enable you to work effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. You are highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy. Why work for Affinity?

Join our values-driven organisation, where incredible people make a genuine difference. Our mission is to inspire and nurture individuals to reach their full potential. It isn’t just about what we do for children, it’s about what we do for our team, too. Affinity allows our people to shine – so we can deliver the best in early education!

Our Curriculum:

Our educators and teachers are trained and accredited in the Lifelong Learning Curriculum which  is Australia’s most advanced approach to early education for children from birth to age five. It is based on the belief that learning and development occurs most successfully when supported by nurturing and engaged educators, in partnership with families and communities. This curriculum draws on the best models of early education, contemporary research and evidence informed practices such as Circle of Security, Abecedarian, and Project Based learning.

Our Safety Commitment

At Affinity, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where every individual is treated with respect and dignity.  We are committed to upholding the safety, rights and wellbeing of all children and promote a culture of child safety with a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse and harm. Our Safety Commitment also prioritises the safety, rights, and wellbeing of our employees and their families.

We are a 2025 Circle back Initiative Employer. We are committed to responding to every applicant.
