Skills and Experience

  • Actively participate in local and regional stakeholder networks to advocate for improvements in state and federally funded services for older Bayside residents.

  • Develop specific activities where gaps exist, source funding and aim for independence and future sustainability.

  • Increase the capacity of other service providers to support positive ageing and ensure great partnerships internally and externally.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Tertiary or other qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a high performing team of Community Development Specialists, ensuring that deadlines are met and customer requests are attended to in a timely manner.

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with older people.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues influencing positive, healthy active ageing.

  • Flexibility to work across varied hours and locations as required.

  • Current Drivers Licence Class C.

About the opportunity  

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic General Surgeon who is preparing for a future application to the Australia and New Zealand Training Board in Colon and Rectal Surgery (ANZTBCRS) for formal training to become a Colorectal Surgeon.

This is a high-volume, 12-month clinical fellowship in colorectal surgery in Townsville University Hospital with abundant opportunity to also develop an academic career in colorectal surgery. The successful candidate will be encouraged to complete a Master of Philosophy by publication at the James Cook University.

Townsville University Hospital is the only tertiary referral centre in North Queensland. The public hospital receives patients from as far north as Cape York Peninsula and the Torres Strait Islands and west to Mount Isa and the Gulf of Carpentaria. It is also the major teaching hospital for James Cook University's School of Medicine.

Our Colorectal Unit in Townsville University Hospital is an expanding and collegiate unit. There are two consultant colorectal surgeons (Dr Chrispen Mushaya and A/Prof Shinichiro Sakata) who are full members of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ), one unaccredited clinical colorectal fellow, one senior SET registrar in General Surgery, one non-accredited registrar, one resident and two surgical interns.

The Role

Opportunities are available for Transit Officers to provide effective customer services and a safe environment for all stakeholders on the Darwin bus network in a high pressure environment.

You will be responsible for conducting on-road patrols to proactively deal with potential anti-social behaviours, duty taskings and requests for assistance on the bus network. These are dynamic roles that involve dealing with colleagues and the public in a fair and equitable manner, providing a highly visible presence whilst promoting a positive image of the Department’s services.

About you

  • Hold Certificate 3 or Diploma in Early Childhood and Care
  • Hold Bachelor of Education degree (Early Childhood) or equivalent Early Childhood qualification.
  • First Aid, CPR and Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification.
  • Valid Blue Card or Exemption Card.
  • A Police Check current within three months (or willingness to obtain one).

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive and analytical professional to join a dynamic Finance Division within a large Federal Government Department. This position is responsible for delivering effective financial system outcomes and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the Department.

The successful candidate will play a key role in analysing, supporting, and enhancing the Department’s financial management systems (including TechnologyOne and Expense8), while collaborating with key stakeholders to streamline processes and improve user experience.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide high-quality advice, analysis, and system support to stakeholders across the Department in relation to financial systems, including TechnologyOne and Expense8.
  • Work closely with business areas to identify and document business requirements, process enhancements, and system improvements.
  • Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of financial system upgrades or enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain clear user guidance, training materials, and procedural documentation.
  • Support and deliver user training sessions to enhance financial system capability across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective system governance and reporting.
  • Undertake research and analysis to support strategic financial system initiatives and best practice improvements.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within financial or government environments.
  • Experience working with TechnologyOne (TechOne) and/or Expense8 systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear business documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment.
ELIGIBILITY
  • Australian Citizenship is essential.
  • Baseline Security Clearance required.
