About the Opportunity

Join our team in Henderson, WA, supporting the Nuclear-powered Submarine sustainment program (SSNS), a critical part of Australia’s future defence capability. In this role, you will provide accurate and timely Earned Value Management (EVM) insights in accordance with the In-Service Support Contract, Australian Standard AS4817-2006/2019, and the Defence Supplement. You will be the central point of contact for all EVM and project cost and schedule-related queries, reporting to the Project Controls Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain cost information in line with AS4817-2006/2019 and the Defence Supplement.
  • Source and integrate data such as budgets, actual costs, progress, and forecasts from business systems including the corporate scheduling tool, project ledger, and ERP, into ASC’s EVM tool.
  • Support continuous cost efficiency improvements aligned with Coles Beyond Benchmark Cost Efficiency targets.
  • Build a strong understanding of ASC’s business systems and data flows across ERP, Contract Management, Procurement, Estimating, Scheduling, and Project Accounting and Finance to support value-for-money outcomes.

About you 

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Commerce/Economics, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in the discipline of Earned Value Management (EVM) within a Project Controls team or project management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Quick learner with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

The opportunity

Saab Australia is an industry participant in the Combat Systems Integration - Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement (CSI-IPT CCA). The CSI-IPT CCA forms a collaborative enterprise organisation to execute scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA4000 Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA5000 Phase 1). This will see independently executed programs such as SEA4000 Phase 6 and SEA5000 Phase 1 brought under one umbrella enterprise organisation, the CSI-IPT.

The CSI-IPT will be built up with personnel from three industry participants and the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) to form a collaborative team working across multiple programs to leverage synergies between platforms.

The roles

Working within the CSI-IPT Test and Commissioning (T&C) Team, the Combat Systems Undersea Warfare (USW)/ Electronics Warfare Systems (EWS) Technician will work to ensure implementation and verification of the DDG Combat System.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Provide technical support and maintenance for Hobart Class USW and EWS CS Equipment
  • Contribute to assuring USW and EWS elements are activated, operational, available and configured
  • Perform a wide range of activities supporting the operation, maintenance and configuration of the USW & EWS components
  • Identify and resolve equipment and documentation discrepancies
  • Assist test performance activities with collection and analysis of system performance data and in the resolution of radar logistics issues
  • Utilise test equipment, tools, optical aids and other techniques during troubleshooting, maintenance and equipment repair process
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance management process including authorisation, conduct, recording and verification tasks

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Certificate III or above in a relevant discipline (e.g. electronics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science/engineering) and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • Conducting fault detection/fault isolation procedures and perform maintenance/repair
  • Supporting preventative and demand maintenance techniques and their practical application to complex problems
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to develop technical competency/mastery USW & EWS systems
  • Researching technical manuals, specifications and drawings
  • Adapting current skills, knowledge and experience to evolving technology
  • Knowledge of operational and maintenance aspects of combat management system(s) (desirable)
  • Clear verbal and writing communication
  • A strong ability to adapt and maintain a flexible approach to changing needs or priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including ability to provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
  • Investigating issues methodologically with a focus on drawing out quality solutions
  • Willingness to travel overseas and interstate to support training requirements.

About You

About Early Learning Victoria 

The Victorian Government is establishing 50 government-owned and operated early learning centres by 2032 as part of the Best Start, Best Life reforms. The centres offer childcare, Three and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten and Pre-Prep. The centres provide high-quality, accessible and inclusive early childhood education and care that is child centred, focused on learning through play and in nature, with strong connections to local communities. 

Early Learning Victoria (ELV) is part of the Victorian Department of Education. The ELV central team is leading the roll-out of the 50 centres and supports and oversees 4 centres that have recently opened. About the role  

Early Learning Victoria recognises the significant role our workforce plays in bringing our purpose to life and we are committed to supporting and growing our early learning workforce to reach their full potential. The Quality and Learning Advisor is responsible for coordinating Early Learning Victoria's provision of professional learning and development for ELV staff.  

The role will manage the implementation and evaluation of the organisational professional learning program, that enhances the capabilities, performance and engagement of staff across the organisation, supporting the effective provision of ELV's early learning centres. The role will ensure learning is aligned ELV's philosophy and key organisational priority areas. The role will also be responsible for the planning and scheduling of mandatory and responsive training and development, including induction activities. 

Key responsibilities  

  • Support the implementation and evaluation of ELV's professional learning program that incorporates adult learning principles and inclusive learning methodologies 
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify learning opportunities across teams 
  • Develop career pathways and succession plans in collaboration with other staff across ELV 
  • Build partnerships with relevant tertiary and training institutions 
  • Coordinate mentoring and coaching initiatives across centres 
  • Collaborate with Centre Directors and Area Managers to align learning initiatives with operational needs 
  • Facilitate training and development activities as required 

Experience required will include 

  • Demonstrated experience implementing professional learning programs within an ECEC context 
  • Effective communication and people management experience, with a skill for fostering a high-trust and collaborative culture.  
  • Experience in facilitation and coordination of professional learning  
  • Experience in stakeholder management and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders 
  • Strong knowledge of the ECEC sector and the National Quality Framework 
  • Experience managing policy projects, from short-term to long-term initiatives.  

Specific skills/qualifications required 

  • Relevant tertiary degree.   
  • Current Police and Working with Children's Checks

About the Centre:

We are a 100-place centre located in the heart of Warners Bay! We have five large learning spaces: Nursery, Toddler 1, Toddler 2, Junior Preschool and Preschool, for children to grow and develop based on their needs and individual milestones.
