About the Opportunity:
City of Darwin Libraries is seeking a STEAM Programs Officer to lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of engaging STEAM programs that inspire curiosity and build digital confidence across our diverse community. This role sits within the Library & Family Services team and plays a key part in positioning our libraries as vibrant hubs of discovery and innovation.
You’ll manage a team of STEAM Programs Assistants, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and oversee the use of emerging technologies such as robotics, VR and 3D printing. Your leadership will help foster inclusive learning experiences and build capacity across the organisation and community.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage all STEAM programs, events and activities delivered both in the libraries or as outreach in the community, including research, self-education, planning, promotion, delivery, and evaluation.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to build capacity within the community.
Engage key groups within the community, including Inspire NT, NT Science Week, and science educators across Darwin.
Supervise the acquisition, operation and maintenance of equipment and software such as robots, 3D printers, and other technology.
In collaboration with the (Senior) Coordinator Library Programs & Engagement, ensure that City of Darwin Libraries STEAM programs are delivered to the highest standard.
Contribute promotional content, including for e-newsletters, website, social media, posters and flyers.
Ensure Library customers are provided with a positive, proactive and responsive customer service experience.
Engage, support and connect library users with services, resources and activities.
Assist customers in the library with general enquiries and the use of technology.
Support customers in the use of self-serve technologies, computers, tablets and mobile devices, including social media and eBooks.
What You’ll Bring
Diploma level in a STEAM discipline or equivalent qualifications and/or experience
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience delivering STEAM related/connected programs and events with a focus on community outcomes.
Current NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
Flexibility to work at multiple library locations.
Ability to work within a library roster, including evenings and weekends.
Possession of a Class C Drivers Licence.
Desirable
Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisor role

About the Opportunity
We are looking for casual Pound Attendants to join our Animal Management team who operate City of Darwin’s Municipal Animal Pound. The positions will work at the Municipal Animal Pound, located in Berrimah, and will be responsible for the day-to-day care of impounded animals on weekdays or weekends to fill any roster gaps.
What do we ask our Pound Attendants to do?
· Cleaning and disinfecting of kennelling areas including but not limited to cages, equipment, runs and common areas, ensuring that a high level of hygiene is maintained at all times to ensure animal wellbeing.
· Humanely provide animal care and identify animals which may be ill, injured, aggressive or difficult to control and take appropriate action as per the standard procedure.
· Provide food and water for all Pound animals.
· Assist the Veterinarian as required.
What do we need you to have?
We are looking for individuals with good work ethic, enthusiasm and can-do attitude. You will possess good computer skills and have the ability to perform manual tasks.
Do be successful you must have:-
· Cert II in Animal Care or equivalent qualification/or minimum one (1) years relevant experience
· Class C Drivers licence
· Tetanus injection upon appointment to the position.

About the Role

The role is responsible for general communications tasks, media relations management, speech and content writing and development, brand management and ensuring the right systems, policies and standard operating procedures are in place to support the function. Research, write and edit content to support the Governor, including speeches, official messages, fact sheets, media releases, and other communications material.
