The training opportunity
The Border Force Officer Recruit Training (BFORT) program is an entry level program.
It is a 12-month training program, with 6-months in the classroom and 6-months on-the-job training that prepares you for operational duties across Australia’s border environments. As a Border Force Officer, you could be protecting Australia’s borders across air, land or sea. You’ll play a vital role in protecting communities and contributing to Australia’s national security.
Upon graduation roles include:
processing passengers at an air or seaports
searching cargo at an air or seaports
inspecting mail at a clearance centre
investigating illegal border activity
assisting in client services
Training locations are determined by ABF operational requirements and may not always be available in your preferred state or region. It is recommended that you select the location that best suits you when applying for a BFORT role. The current BFORT program is advertised to fill positions located specifically in Darwin, Northern Territory (NT) and Perth, Western Australia (WA).
If you apply for a rolethat is located outside your current city or region, you will be responsible for any relocation costs. You must be available to commence training on the specified start date when you are offered a BFORT role. You will remain in this location for the duration of the training program and after you successfully complete and graduate. Once you graduate you are able to apply for opportunities in other locations.

ABOUT YOU
Relevant formal qualifications in information technology or suitable business orientated degree and/or equivalent industry experience gained by practical application over a minimum of 3 years.
NSW Driving License Class C.
Certifications in Microsoft technologies, ITIL or ITSM.
Demonstrated experience in data engineering, involving the design, development, and maintenance of data infrastructure and systems. A solid background in managing large-scale data sets, including data collection, processing, storage, and retrieval.
Track record in designing and managing databases and data warehouses. Practical knowledge of data architecture, data modelling, and database design principles to create efficient and optimized data systems.
Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, encompassing the deployment and management of data-related services on these platforms.
Experience in identifying and resolving bottlenecks in data systems, optimizing data pipelines, and improving overall data infrastructure performance and reliability.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, IT professionals, and business stakeholders. Experience in understanding and addressing diverse data requirements from different departments within a government context.

Our Waste and Resource Recovery Operations team and is responsible for the provision of a high-quality resource recovery service, delivering high level customer service in compliance with environmental, workplace health and safety legislation.
We now have a fixed term contract opportunity or a Senior Operations Officer to provide commercial and contract management support for the Resource Recovery Service contract.
Key Deliverables
Provide guidance and support for the effective operation of City operated Waste and Recycling Centres, in conjunction with the RRS contractor. Including inspection of the supply and commercial requirements relating to plant, equipment, technology systems and resources to meet service standards and ensuring the contractor maintains compliant work practices at RRS operated Centres.
Utilises technical waste knowledge and understanding of business functions and operations to ensure services are effectively and efficiently delivered. Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations to improve business systems and processes.
Responsible for project management and implementation of projects associated with improvements and maintenance at Waste Facilities.
Ensure all work complies with quality, workplace health and safety and environmental standards.
Provide a quality service to all customers, both internal and external, perform enquiry mediation.
Monitor the SAP asset and maintenance management system to ensure all activities both planned and reactive are tracked and monitored to drive optimum plant performance a resource usage, meeting budgetary requirements.
Liaising with waste operations functions and other stakeholders as part of delivering projects and investigations.
Correlate service and customer data and analysis to ensure service planning aligns with customer demand.
About You
Has experience within Waste Management/Waste Recycling operations or other relevant technical knowledge.
Competent in the use of Document Management systems, Open Windows and SAP.
Has experience in leading site-based teams to achieve operational maintenance and small renewal projects safely and within budget.
Has experience in managing WHS and Environmental requirements as it relates to Waste and Recycling Centres and Waste Industry standards.
A sound understanding of asset management principles.
Has experience in managing contractual arrangements to achieve service delivery and operational outcomes.
Capable of interacting with a wide range of stakeholders.

Supervise and support food and beverage staff during daily service and events
Ensure guests consistently receive outstanding service
Oversee function and event room setup and pack down
Manage inventory levels, ordering, stock rotation, and equipment
Train and mentor food and beverage team members
Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service delivery
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations
Handle cash and payment transactions accurately
Contribute to continuous improvement in operations and service delivery
Certificate/diploma qualifying in tourism, hospitality, events, or other relevant field is highly desirable
RSA Certificate

DHS Working With Children Check
South Australian Class C Driver's Licence

Salary range is between $83,751 - 89,871 plus superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications.

The role:
As a Principal Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the initiation, planning and successful completion of ICT projects in line with Queensland Health project management methodologies. Potentially managing several in-flight projects simultaneously, you will deliver successful projects within agreed timeframes, budget, and quality standards.
This role will often be required to deploy infrastructure and applications to existing and new health care facilities, managing the effective transition of ICT services while ensuring patient care is not disrupted.
You will ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and comply with Queensland Health strategies, architecture, and best practice guidelines.
You will ensure performance against project plans and budgets is met. Additionally, you will enable informed decision making on project issues by developing timely and relevant written submissions, briefs, presentations, and information papers for project stakeholders.

We are seeking a candidate with high level leadership skills and the ability to translate business requirements into achievable deliverables. To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in the delivery of IM/ICT projects, preferably in the health care industry. You will possess a high level of expertise and knowledge of appropriate project management methodologies, preferably PRINCE2, and the ability to provide expert advice on the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies, and tools.
An understanding of the operational environment within hospitals and the role that ICT plays to support them is desirable.
Demonstrated experience in the implementation, integration and migration of ICT infrastructure and telecommunications services (e.g., WAN, LAN, Data Centre, Unified Communications etc.), in association with building construction, will be highly regarded.
Proven experience in the configuration, testing and deployment of applications and system integration in health care facilities is desirable.
You will require high level interpersonal, negotiation, consultation, and communication skills to create a strong client focus. Proven ability to lead and manage multiple multi-disciplinary project teams will be an essential requirement in this role. To be successful in this role you will utilise your abilities to work in a team environment and develop effective working relationships with stakeholders.
