About this role
The Executive Director, Regulation and Enforcement leads the response for statewide tobacco and e-cigarette compliance and enforcement and related activities across NSW. The Centre also supports Service NSW in the effective implementation of the tobacco licensing scheme and the tobacco information line. 

The Executive Director, Regulation and Enforcement’s responsibilities include implementing legislative and regulatory requirements to inform operational policy decision making processes and the development, implementation and evaluation of enforcement initiatives to optimise alignment with the Government’s strategic objectives.

The role provides strategic regulation and compliance advice to relevant Ministers, the Secretary of NSW Health and the Chief Health Officer & Deputy Secretary, Population and Public Health. 

This is a Term (up to two years), full time, Band 2, Public Service Senior Executive (PSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $297,738 - $335,157 per annum (SOORT 2025), with annual performance reviews, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

About you 
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: 
•    Sound knowledge and understanding of the national and state health systems and relevant policy developments including tobacco and e-cigarette initiatives and programs.
•    Demonstrated senior executive management experience in a large and complex organisation, as well as proven management experience in policy, legislation and regulation development, implementation, evaluation and review, and program management from design to evaluation.
•    Demonstrated skills and experience applying policy and legislation in an enforcement environment and highly developed program management skills to ensure the effective coordination of program objectives and reporting requirements across a large, complex organisation.

The position sits within the social work acute services team and will provide a social work service to patients and their carers in the community assessment unit, the emergency department and intensive care unit. As an acute services social worker you will complete psychosocial assessments, provide counselling around adjustment to illness, crisis and bereavement support, crisis intervention, referral to community services and discharge planning.

Selection Criteria

  1. Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and eligibility for membership of the AASW
  2. Extensive post graduate clinical experience in relevant specialty area (including providing crisis interventions) with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning

What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for a full-time position of Team Member Supply Chain Management Team within the AFP Logistics Command.

The Supply Chain Management Team is a corporate support area operating in a warehouse environment and is responsible for the lifecycle management of assets such as ballistic vests, batons and handcuffs as well as facilitating freight movements both domestically and internationally.

As a Team Member, you will be expected to assist the Team Leader in achieving the goals and outcomes of the Logistics Command Strategic Plans in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

  • Facilitate the preparation of freight consignments and accompanying documentation and, where applicable, ensuring adherence to Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) and WHS requirements
  • Perform physical warehouse stock movements via forklift or manual handling methods
  • Effectively maintain inventory/assets in AFP corporate systems utilising the Inventory Management System (IMS) and asset modules in SAP
  • Conduct physical and systematic stocktakes and disposal activities
  • Ensure compliance with AFP Governance instruments and standard operating procedures
  • Provide consistent high quality customer service to internal AFP and external stakeholders that builds a positive reputation and trust in the business area

About the work unit / facility

Townsville Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS) is a community-based consultation and liaison service providing assessment and treatment for older adults. It supports GPs and aged care providers by evaluating mental health concerns and recommending care.

OPMHS primarily sees individuals over 65, or over 55 for Indigenous people, with first-time mental illness presentations. Younger patients with age-related neurodegenerative conditions, such as Alzheimer's disease, may also be included. The service specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing support of people with dementia.

The Principal Industrial Adviser is required to:

  • Provide advice and strategies on industrial risk for workplace policy and procedure development, projects, implementation and evaluation.

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders on industrial matters for planning, developing, implementing and promulgating employee transition and change strategies with specific regard to consultation strategies.

  • Manage sensitive industrial relations negotiations with key stakeholders and registered organisations, staff and senior management.

The Principal Industrial Adviser is accountable to the Officer in Charge, Workplace Relations Branch and is required to work closely with the team members of the Workplace Relations Branch.

The Principal Industrial Adviser works in collaboration with Executive and Line Managers across all areas of SAPOL and external stakeholders such as Crown Solicitors Office and Employee Associations.
