In this role, you will immerse yourself in the mission-critical world of data centre engineering, working across high-tier facilities for hyperscale clients, colocation providers and large enterprise operators. You will play a pivotal role in delivering resilient, energy-efficient, scalable electrical systems that underpin some of the most demanding digital environments in Australia and beyond.

You will work closely with experienced technical leaders, influence design direction, and contribute to projects across multiple geographies. As a senior member of the team, you will mentor junior engineers, engage directly with clients, lead workshops, and be involved nationally on our Data Centre projects.

We are currently delivering landmark data centre and mission-critical programs across Technology, Defence, Energy, Resources and Aviation sectors-giving you the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant infrastructure.

Here are the key things you will need to 'bring ideas to life':
  • Demonstrated experience in data centre electrical design, including Tier III or Tier IV facilities (Uptime Institute exposure highly regarded).

  • Strong technical capability in HV/LV distribution, generator systems, UPS and battery energy storage, earthing, fault studies, ARC flash analysis, and redundancy/resilience planning.

  • Experience with power modelling, load analysis, and energy efficiency strategies for mission-critical facilities.

  • Understanding of AS/NZS standards, critical infrastructure guidelines, and global data centre design practices.

  • Ability to engage confidently with hyperscale clients, operators, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to translate technical detail into client-focused outcomes.

  • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers, coordinate packages, and manage project deliverables.

  • Proven experience contributing to proposals, bid support, or securing repeat work through excellent client service.

You will provide customer support and engineering through the performance of small projects, on-site installation, and troubleshooting, service, and repair of equipment. The Field Service Engineers work with our customers to maintain a thoughtful and productive manufacturing system.

Your Responsibilities:

The Essentials - You Will Have:

The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking an Electrical Coordinator is responsible for delivering high quality electrical and allied technical services and projects, and maintaining key building services systems, across current and future NGV facilities.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

You will plan and deliver electrical and technical services for projects, exhibitions, and events across NGV sites, ensuring compliance with standards, regulatory requirements across all NGV sites including NGV International, NGV Australia and NGV Contemporary (future site). Provide technical advice, reports, and recommendations as required. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the operation of building services technical systems including Building Automation Systems (BAS), backup generators, and UPS systems to support efficient and effective operation, maintenance and fault diagnosis.
  • Supervising electrical works by contractors, overseeing testing and commissioning of electrical works, ensuring updates to site documentation, and verify compliance with relevant standards and procedures.
  • Coordinating and utilise CMMS/CAFM systems to improve asset reliability, reduce downtime, and optimise maintenance and facilities costs. Utilise Smart Building Systems, Building Management Systems (BMS), Backup Generators and UPS systems, to facilitate asset operation and fault finding.

To be successful, you will have demonstrated post-apprenticeship studies in an allied electrical field such as PLC programming, Electronics, CCTV security, HVAC, BMS, Sustainability and/or Embedded Systems and hold an A Grade Electrical Licence. You have proven experience in a similar role for no less than 5 years, coupled with an excellent and current knowledge of building management systems and preventative maintenance practices. You will also have sound knowledge of the interpretation and application of relevant OHS legislations, rules and regulations (Australian Standards) and relevant legislation (building codes, fire safety) and international standards.

Who You Are
  • You hold a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a valid Drivers Licence with 3+ years of experience or 8+ years for the Senior role.
  • You possess demonstrated Solidworks 3D modeling abilities with knowledge of Australian drafting standards and manufacturing principles.
  • You show strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to verify designs through manual calculations or FEA.
  • You are an organized team player with excellent communication skills capable of managing multiple priorities or leading staff.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and maintain CAD files while researching new parts and technologies for innovative solutions.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle including testing troubleshooting and preparing bills of materials and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support production in Shepparton.
  • Contribute to QA activities and standards with the Senior role specifically leading and mentoring two Mechanical Engineers.

We are now hiring Task Sign-Off Maintainers to support the UH-60M Black Hawk fleet—a platform renowned for its capability, complexity, and operational relevance.

🔧 Your Key Responsibilities

You'll work alongside B1.3/B2 Military Aircraft Maintenance License (MAML) holders and be accountable for:

  • Performing Task Sign-off of maintenance tasks that you have personally performed within the scope.

  • Ensuring all safety-critical inspections (e.g. Error Capture) are not bypassed or compromised

  • Using only authorised data, tools, and equipment to maintain airworthiness

  • Monitoring for human factors that could impact task integrity – in yourself or others

  • Participating in and improving maintenance cycles through PBED (Plan, Brief, Execute, Debrief)

  • Verifying follow-on maintenance needs and submitting necessary documentation

  • Maintaining tool control and cleanliness in line with AFCAMAN Book IV, Chapter 8

🎓 Qualifications & Skills That Set You Up for Success

Must Have:

  • Certificate IV or above in Aeroskills – Mechanical or Avionics

  • Eligibility under DASR 145 MOE for task sign-off

  • Qualified, experienced, and competent enough to be authorised to sign off maintenance work (in either avionics or mechanical disciplines) within the maintenance structure (DASR 145 MO).

  • Provide non-certifying support to tasks in a blended team of ADF and contractor personnel

  • Platform-specific safety training and system/component maintenance courses

Nice to Have (and recognised):

  • Prior helicopter or component maintenance experience

  • Knowledge of Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASRs)

  • Understanding of Human Factors in Maintenance and PBED principles
