About the Role

We are seeking a talented Specialist - Site Improvement to join an inclusive and high-performing operations team. In this role, you will identify, lead, and support improvement projects across Mining, Mobile Maintenance, and Processing.

You will build capability across the business by upskilling teams in problem-solving and supporting frontline leaders to develop and sustain improved ways of working. This position is hands-on, focused on implementing systematic improvements and embedding strong operating-system practices across the organisation.

You will leverage innovative approaches, tools, and technology to deliver meaningful value, set new standards for improvement activity, and uplift capability through coaching and structured methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the site's improvement initiative pipeline

These roles are ideal for someone who enjoys working autonomously, problem-solving on the go, and delivering high-quality maintenance and repairs on a range of mobile plant machinery.
 
About the Role:
You will be responsible for field-based maintenance, fault finding, and repairs across multiple sites throughout Perth. Work will involve servicing and diagnosing a variety of surface mobile plant machinery.
 
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering stability, variety, and competitive rates. A field service ute will be provided for site travel along with a company phone and a laptop.

Paying: $70 Per hour Flat Rate
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of mobile plant equipment
  • Perform breakdown support across multiple customer sites
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Identify faults and provide high-quality technical solutions
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and reporting

Our Ideal Candidates: 
  • Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification (heavy)
  • Minimum 4 years of mechanical experience

About the position

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will work across both our manufacturing plant and down-the-hole blasting operations on site.

This role is based at our Savage River site in the dynamic Burnie region of Tasmania's north-west coast. You will be supported and mentored by fantastic leaders, and be surrounded by a close-knit, hard-working team.

Core accountabilities include: 

  • Safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment 
  • Raw and bulk material handling 
  • QA/QC monitoring, testing, and reporting 
  • Compliance in accordance with company policies and procedures

About you

About The Opportunity:

Caterpillar’s MineStar Solutions Division is currently seeking a Product Service Consultant to support MineStar Terrain Onboard technologies to be located in Brisbane, QLDAs Product Service Consultant, you will have a significant impact on overall product quality and customer experience for MineStar Terrain Onboard technologies. This role will provide support and service engineering services which include product validation, investigating, troubleshooting, diagnosing application and technical problems. With an emphasis in project management, internal and external relations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mining Technology (MineStar) hardware and software issue identification and resolution for dealers and customers.

  • Implementation and utilisation of standard support processes to respond, restore, and resolve issues.

  • Advocate on behalf of the dealer and customer to resolve technical product issues with product development engineering.

  • Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.

  • Report issues within the CPI (product defect) process to assure proper resolution to ongoing issues.

  • Act as the liaison between the Caterpillar implementation teams, product development teams, and other support team members ensuring appropriate corrective actions are performed and that industry standard change management and support processes are followed.

Key Relationships:

  • Product Support Manager and Team Leader: frequent discussions regarding priorities, directions, and assistance.

  • ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS - This position requires open pit mine site support work at times. The selected applicant will be required to complete and pass regulatory open pit and underground mine safety training, and travel to and work for short periods of time in open pit and underground mining environments. Time spent in a mining environment would typically include a single work week with daily work in the mining environment.

  • This job role is primary performed during normal day shift hours but does include some off-shift and weekend responsibilities.

About the multiple roles available:

Start a brand new, exciting career as a Trainee Blast Truck Operator with Orica, where safety, teamwork, and respect for the land and communities we work within are at the heart of everything we do.

We have multiple vacancies for Trainee Blast Truck Operators across open-cut and underground mine sites in Western Australia. Roles are available for candidates living close to site, or 'Drive In Drive Out' for candidates living within a safe driving distance to our Kalgoorlie operations. Rosters are generally 8 days on, 6 days off.

What you will be doing:

  • When successfully trained, operate Orica's advanced blasting vehicles such as Mobile Manufacturing Units (MMU) or Mobile Charging Units (MCU).

  • Work shoulder to shoulder with a skilled blasting team, helping deliver explosive products safely into pre-drilled blast holes on open-cut or underground mine sites.

  • At times, provide hands-on support and physical labour as part of the blasting team.

  • Learn to operate Orica's other plant and equipment used in the blasting process.

  • Uphold our core value: Safety is our Priority, Always.

What you will bring:

  • A positive, team-focused attitude – looking out for your mates.

  • Willingness to work in challenging environments (hot, dusty, underground).

  • Ability to pass a national police clearance.

  • A medium or heavy rigid licence is preferred but not essential. If successful, you’ll need to be willing to obtain one.

  • A willingness to learn and be trained in what is an exciting new career opportunity.
