About the Role:

Assisting Shotfirers with coordinating and loading explosive for blasts. Ensuring safe practise and procedures are at the forefront of all duties carried out.

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure the safe, use, storage, security, transport, and handling of explosive in accordance with all statutory and company procedural requirements
• Able to follow instructions from Shotifrers.
• Carry out the loading of explosives and priming of blast holes.
• Dipping of blast holes and recording of information accurately for engineers.
• Delineation of active blast loading areas
• Safe and efficient operation of duties
• Carry out pre-starts on equipment
• Conduct bulk product quality tests as required
• Able to work unsupervised.
• Operate ancillary equipment (stemming loader, etc)

About You:

• Experience in a production mining open pit environment in a similar position.

There will also be a potential requirement to work nightshift for these roles.  This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise you're mining skills and knowledge for one of our key customers.  In addition, the MPU Operator will also be responsible for: 

• Safe and efficient machinery operation of a MPU for the purpose of manufacturing explosives.

• Delivery of emulsion-based explosives in alignment with the contracted services supplied on site

• Basic maintenance on all on site equipment.

• Completion of all required paperwork.

 What you will bring 

It is essential that the successful candidate can demonstrate operational experience as a qualified MPU Operator or demonstrated equipment operation experience on an active blast bench as well as the following:

About the role

Onsite skills' is seeking experienced Drill Fitters to join our teams in Queensland and Western Australia. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing drilling equipment used in exploration and drill and blast operations within the mining and resources industry.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting routine maintenance and servicing on a variety of drilling rigs and associated equipment

• Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues on drilling rigs

• Working closely with the drilling crew to ensure optimal equipment performance and productivity

• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance

• Contributing to a safe and productive work environment

What we're looking for

• Extensive experience as a Drill Fitter, preferably within the mining, resources or exploration sectors

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of drilling equipment

• Demonstrated experience in maintaining drilling rigs and associated components, including hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems

• Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and the ability to work safely in a dynamic and hazardous environment

• A valid driver's licence and the ability to work on a casual, flexible schedule
