What you’ll be doing

About the role

We are seeking highly skilled Production Operators to join our dynamic Mining Operations teams across the Pilbara. In this role, you will safely operate large-scale mining equipment to extract iron ore, preparing it for processing and shipment to our global customers. These positions are FIFO with an 8/6/7/7 roster from Perth. Ideal candidates will have experience with the following equipment:

  • Loaders/Diggers: EX 3600, EX5600, LT 1850/2350, CAT 994, WA1200

  • Dozers: D10, D11

  • Opportunities to start January 2026

BUMA Australia provides a total mine service to Stanwell Corporation's Meandu Mine to deliver coal to the adjacent Tarong power station. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine.

Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations. Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the stations until at least 2037.

  • Support the construction of bulk earthworks, detailed earthworks, drainage including substation benches, internal tracks and hardstands in accordance with IFC design and specifications.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil construction of infrastructure or renewable-energy projects.

  • Strong understanding of bulk-earthworks construction, stormwater drainage, and civil structures.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related drafting software (12D experience highly regarded).

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geotechnical data.

About the Opportunity:

We are looking for multiple Diesel Fitters to join us in workshops across the Mount Isa region with industry leading clients. You will gain the opportunity to expand your skills on OEM heavy mining equipment while showing off your notch mechanical skills. 

What you want to know:

  • 8/6, 7/7 rosters available.

  • Flights and Accommodation paid for.

  • Up to $80 p/h, depending on experience.

What we are looking for:

  • OEM experience with CAT and Hitachi

  • Certificate lll in Mobile Plant Technology (or equivalent)

  • Minimum of 2 years post apprenticeship.

  • Strong awareness of safety.
