Western Power is seeking a Principal Engineer to provide strategic technical leadership across our transmission network. This is a pivotal role - enabling the connection of renewable energy, influencing engineering direction, driving network innovation, and ensuring the day-to-day reliability and security of the energy systems millions of Western Australians depend upon.

Your Role in Action

• Provide high level subject matter expertise engineering advice and guidance for short term network security, reliability, capacity and constraint management (operating the networks within limits).
• Set strategy, develop and approve Network Operations policies and standards for managing the operation of the transmission network. This includes but not limited to managing network constraints, contingencies, load reduction and rotation, low and peak loads.
• Liaise and coordinate with internal and external customers such as transmission connected generators and major customers on engineering matters relating to Network Operations.
• Oversee the commissioning of transmission connected generators and provide approval to operate.
• Provide technical leadership and solutions to the operational impact of increasing renewable generation penetration.

Duties of the Communications Engineer include:

• Support the configuration management of Countermeasures Development and Validation (CMD&V) support equipment, and any identified remediation activities.

• Manage the licences and software IAW APM for in-service/baselined sustained equipment.

MANDATORY Qualifications, Skills, Experience
