About the role
This is a hands-on role reporting directly to the Technical Manager and is located in the south eastern suburbs.
You'll be responsible for accuracy and quality across all drawings and technical documentation, contribute to reducing material waste and production costs through smart and efficient design, deliver excellent customer service with timely and professional communication, and maintain a strong focus on process improvement, compliance, and supporting a safe, well-organised workplace.
Lead technical engineering, prototyping, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and material/process selection.
Translate market feedback into innovative product concepts using CAD (Solid Edge / SolidWorks).
Prepare technical documentation including specifications, drawings, production briefs, and control documents.
Manage product development projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
Work collaboratively across the business to support manufacturing, quality, service, and commercial teams.
Ensure all designs meet regulatory, industry, and internal quality standards.
Identify opportunities for product enhancement, cost reduction, and process improvement.
Contribute positively to the team culture, supporting continuous improvement and innovation.
About You

Relevant qualifications (higher diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering) or strong practical experience in refrigeration, air conditioning, or related industries and sheetmetal experience.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
