The Opportunity

As a Trade Operator, you'll play an important part in assisting with mechanical servicing, maintenance and repairs of mobile and ancillary equipment, helping the team meet operational targets safely and efficiently.

About the Role

  • Assist maintenance trades personnel to achieve budgeted maintenance targets by carrying out scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and timely repairs on mobile and ancillary equipment
  • Report all safety hazards, environmental hazards, incidents, damage, breakdowns and equipment stoppages to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the mobile maintenance team by supporting daily activities across both surface and underground workshops, and applying sound maintenance knowledge and practical skills
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in workshops and all areas where maintenance activities are performed

About You

  • Hold a valid WA manual driver's licence
  • Possess dogging, EWP, forklift and mobile crane tickets (desirable)
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
  • Have previous manual labour or physically demanding work experience suitable for the roles requirements

ABOUT THE ROLE


This role is a permanent position on a 7:7 or 4:3 roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns to Groote Eylandt.


As the Maintenance Engineer (Mobile Assets), you will be responsible for engineering solutions that strengthen performance, reliability and safety across mobile maintenance, including strategy development, critical spares analysis and defect-elimination leadership.


Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:


  • Identify and plan engineering works aligned to requirements, budgets and priorities
  • Undertake Root Cause Analysis investigations and implement defect-elimination actions
  • Provide technical expertise to support quality workmanship and safe maintenance execution
  • Support Inventory & Warehousing processes through input on stock levels, criticality and spares



ABOUT YOU


You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:


  • Mobile fleet experience across heavy mining equipment and light vehicle ancillary assets
  • Strong understanding of RAMS principles (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety)and preventative strategy development
  • Analytical and investigative capability with proven experience leading Root Cause Analysis processes
  • Familiarity with condition monitoring processes and their application to mobile fleets
  • Experience with CAT, Hitachi, and/or Komatsu HME
  • SAP and OnePM proficiency (advantageous but not essential)


Qualifications for this position are:


  • Engineering degree accredited by Engineers Australia (EA)
  • Current manual driver's licence

Supervisor Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM) Shutdowns

About the role

We are looking for Supervisor MEM Shutdown to join our Operations team at Tom Price. You'll lead, mentor, coach and develop the shutdown maintenance team while providing leadership in safely executing shutdown maintenance activities at site level.

You'll be part of a friendly team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. You'll work on a fly in, fly out, 8 days on; 6 days ; 7 days on, 7 days off, roster which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life. 

Reporting to the Superintendent MEM Shutdown you will:

  • Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures
  • Appointment as Statutory Supervisor under WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 with the functions as per Schedule 26
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices
  • Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties
  • Organise and manage the preparation and execution of HME Shutdown work in compliance to the RT Shutdown Procedure:
  • Provide input into shutdown schedule, scope, and budget, incl. risks, site layout plan and shutdown management plan
  • Statutory workplace inspections
  • Manage HSE, shift handovers, schedule, scope change, critical issues/ contingencies

What you'll bring

  • Leadership experience and confidence in leading, developing and coaching team members
  • In depth knowledge of large-scale earthmoving equipment maintenance
  • Contractor management experience
  • Computer literacy, Outlook, Excel, Word and SAP maintenance system
  • An understanding of the shut management process and principles
  • Experience working with Komatsu, Hitachi and Caterpillar equipment
  • Statutory Position Legal Exam - Statutory Supervisor (or working towards)
  • Hold a current "C Class" WA Manual Driver's License
