Work experience 
  • Solid experience working within the Production Mining industry such as bulk earthworks or load and haul in open pit 
  • Dump Truck Operators must have experience on CAT 777 / 785 + or equivalent 
  • All Round Operators must be able to operate at least 2 machines such as the following or bigger: CAT D10 Dozers, CAT 980/WA600 Loaders, CAT14/CAT16 M/H Graders 
  • Digger Operators must be able to operate 125T as minimum Komatsu PC1250/Hitachi EX1200 size machines.
Must have the below:

Meandu Mine

BUMA Australia provides a total mine service to Stanwell Corporation's Meandu Mine to deliver coal to the adjacent Tarong power station. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine.

Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations. Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the stations until at least 2037.

 ABOUT THE ROLE

Norton Gold Fields is expanding its underground operations and is looking for an experienced Charge Up Operator to join our new underground mine. This project is a convenient 30-minute drive from Kalgoorlie.

We are seeking a Underground Charge Up Operator who will work in a safe and efficient manner to achieve development and production targets each shift within the mine plan.


KEY DUTIES AND TASKS

  • Initiate safe explosives handling including transport and signage.

  • Handle safe use of explosives underground including charging, priming and firing.

  • Conduct pre starts on equipment prior to operation.

  • Initiate and participate in equipment handovers with Underground Shift Supervisor and cross shift operator.

  • Follow and interpret mine plan instructions, profiles designs and ground support patterns to achieve good quality development in a timely manner.

  • Exercise good judgment and improving the correct procedure, process or technique.

  • Bogging and transporting material to underground trucks or designated areas as directed by your Underground Shift Supervisor each shift.

  • Report significant changes in the ground conditions and use of consumables.

  • Operate the equipment to Best Practice to minimise damage on equipment.


ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years in underground mining (as Service Crew, Truck Operator and/or Nipper).

  • Minimum 6 months experience off-siding Underground Charge Up Operators.

  • Basic knowledge of Mine Regulations, Act and HSE Regulations.

  • Current unrestricted “C” Class WA Manual driver's license.

  • Current WA Shot-firing license.

  • Current WA Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC).

About The Position

Working an 8&6 roster and reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will play a critical role in the maintenance department by ensuring the optimal performance of machinery and equipment.

Your day-to-day activities will include but not limited to:

  • Perform HV switching, isolations, and testing in line with site procedures and WA Mines Regulations
  • Conduct maintenance, inspections, and fault-finding on HV and LV equipment, including substations, switch rooms, fixed plant and mobile equipment
  • Assist with planning and execution of shutdowns, HV audits, and statutory compliance tasks
  • Maintain accurate records, permits, and electrical documentation
  • Support safe production by working closely with Maintenance, Operations and HSET
  • Participate in site safety initiatives, risk assessments and toolbox meetings
