Ascent Physiotherapy is a dynamic and growing allied health practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a supportive and friendly environment. We are looking for a friendly, motivated and professional individual to be the welcoming face of our clinic and support our team of healthcare professionals. We are open 6 days a week (8am-6pm Mon-Friday with alternate Saturdays 8.30am-1pm).

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional Receptionist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone looking for flexible hours (approximately 3 days per week) and offers an opportunity to work within a dedicated healthcare setting. You will play a key role in ensuring a positive experience for all patients and visitors. Workdays & hours will be decided with the successful candidate, although you must have capacity to work the scope of our practice hours including some late afternoon & occasional Saturday shifts. This position is casual but likely to progress to permanent part-time and has potential to extend towards a senior role/ assistant practice management for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Greeting: Warmly greet patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.

  • Appointment Management: Schedule and manage appointments efficiently using our Cliniko practice management software (experience with Cliniko software is a bonus but not mandatory).

  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance to the clinical team and management.

  • Billing & Payments: Process HICAPS, EFTPOS, and patient payments, and manage invoicing and transaction entries.

  • Phone & Email Management: Handle phone calls and email inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.

  • Clinic Maintenance: Ensure the reception, treatment rooms and waiting areas are clean, tidy, and well-maintained.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a reception, administration, or customer service role is preferred (experience in a medical or allied health setting is an advantage)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive and light-hearted approach.

  • High level of organisation and attention to detail, even in a busy environment.

  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (email, word processing) and the ability to quickly learn new software.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide immediate and autonomous clinical judgement and crisis intervention in highly stressful, complex and sensitive situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage workload including prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Full registration as a Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse or Mental Health Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); or
  • Registration as a Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

The Division of Surgery at NCH is responsible for delivering inpatient and outpatients surgical services and includes Surgical Bookings and Pre-Admission Clinic, Anaesthesia, Pain Management Unit, Perioperative Suite, Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit, Day Surgery Unit, Admissions, Endoscopy and specialist surgical ward areas.

The Endoscopy Unit provides planned admitted and outpatient services for gastroenterology patients. The service is designed to provide consumers both outpatients and inpatients with access to gastroenterology services The focus for these services includes early intervention, diagnosis and treatment, education, prevention, assessment, treatment plans, surgical preparation, post-operative care for consumers with colonic and gastric abnormalities performing procedures like gastroscopy and colonoscopy under sedation /general anaesthetics.

Endoscopy Level 2 Nurse is a dynamic and skilled professional responsible for the provision of patient centered evidence-based nursing care for every patient. This dynamic and varied role is responsible for all stages of the patient journey within the department including patient admissions, safe intraprocedural care, recovery and safe and appropriate discharge of the patient.

Our nursing team works within an interdisciplinary healthcare team supported by Perioperative Education Team, and the Clinical Nurse Consultant.

About the Role

With a key focus on customer and clinical excellence, the Sales Representative is primarily responsible for providing exceptional service by offering solutions to Surgeons and Medical/Healthcare professionals across Arthrex's product portfolio including Sports Medicine & Arthroscopy, Distal Extremities & Traumatology, Imaging & Resection, Shoulder Arthroplasty and Orthobiologics. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing effective relationships and liaising with Surgeons and Theatre staff; promoting the sale of products/solutions that addresses customer's pain points
  • Identifying customer needs and optimising on opportunities including generating leads and presenting product information
  • Providing in-theatre clinical support during cases, delivering in-servicing for customers, and supporting new product launches
  • Developing and implementing strategic territory sales and performance plans

About the Requirements

  • Successful sales track record in Trauma, Sports Medicine, Orthopaedic or similar, or experienced Scrub Nurses, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Exercise Physiologists, Podiatrists or Paramedics looking to make a transition into sales.
  • Strong team orientation, and a long term, relationship based sales approach
