  • Manage accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and grant acquittals.

  • Providing HR support through accurate record-keeping, payroll coordination, and initiatives that foster an inclusive, compliant, and well-supported workplace.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, ATO, ACNC, and funding bodies.

  • Support audits and uphold financial governance frameworks.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CA/CPA qualified or working towards)

  • Experience in accounting and HR coordination or willingness to develop HR skills.

  • Knowledge of payroll systems and HR compliance.

  • Background in not-for-profit or Indigenous health/community services.

  • Familiarity with grant reporting and NFP governance.

  • Understanding of payroll systems and HR compliance (Fair Work, NES)

  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-culturally.

  • Commitment to Jilya’s values and social justice.

  • Valid Australian driver’s licence, National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, and Bankruptcy Financial Check.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Aboriginal or diverse organisations.

  • Understanding of Fair Work Act and relevant Awards.

The salary range offered is between $100,000-$120,000 per annum plus superannuation depending on skills and experience. As a not-for-profit, The Westerman Jilya Institute for Indigenous Mental Health offers salary packaging, which can boost your take-home pay by reducing taxable income.
