The Role

As the Head Chef you will take charge of the kitchen operations in a well-established regional venue. You'll be responsible for leading and mentoring the kitchen team, maintaining high food safety standards, and delivering consistent quality across seasonal peaks and quieter periods. A current QLD Food Safety Certificate is required, along with experience in training staff, managing costs, and reducing waste. This role suits a chef who takes pride in their team, enjoys creating a positive kitchen culture, and understands the balance between quality and efficiency.

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or senior cook
• Holds a valid QLD Food Safety certificate
• Confident in managing and mentoring a small team
• Strong ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently across seasonal fluctuations in trade (from 5 to 400+ covers daily)
• Skilled in cost control and minimising waste
• Adaptable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a regional/rural location with provided accommodation
