About the role

Sutton Concreting is seeking a skilled and experienced Supervisor/Leading Hand Concreter to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD. This is a casual position working approximately 50 hours per week. There is opportunity for the position to grow into permanent and for further growth in the company.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of our concrete pouring and finishing crews, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards. This role is an "on the tools role" reporting to the directors.

What you'll be doing

1. Supervising and directing a team of concreters, ensuring their work is completed efficiently and to specifications

2. Monitoring quality control and health and safety processes on site

3. Providing hands-on support and guidance to the concrete pouring and finishing crews

4. Troubleshooting any issues that arise and implementing corrective actions or reaching out for guidance to the directors for action required

5. Completing all necessary documentation and reporting requirements

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 5 years' experience as a Concreter or relevant work experience in other trade, with proven leadership and supervisory skills

2. Strong understanding of concrete pouring and finishing techniques, as well as industry safety standards

3. Someone who enjoys sharing their industry knowledge and demonstrates patience while training the next generation of concreters

4. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications

5. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

6. A current driver's licence (HR license advantageous)

7. Availability Monday to Friday
