Accountant (Standalone Role - 3-4 Month Temp, View to Permanency)

Our client, a family-owned business with a supportive and down-to-earth culture, is seeking an experienced Accountant to step into a standalone position within their finance team. This is a 3-4 month temporary assignment with the potential to become permanent for the right person.
This opportunity has become available due to a recent team change, and the business is looking for someone who can hit the ground running and take ownership of the day-to-day accounting function.
About the Role
Reporting to Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of accounting duties across both transactional and month-end areas. You'll also collaborate closely with finance team members in both Sydney and Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end close and preparation of reports
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Receivable functions
- Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
- Process payroll
- Handle foreign currency transactions
- Prepare statutory reporting and compliance including GST, BAS, FBT, and Superannuation
About You
We're looking for a hands-on Accountant who enjoys working independently and takes pride in getting things done accurately and on time.
Key Attributes:
- Working towards or completed CPA/CA qualification
- Confident operating in a standalone accounting role
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset
- Strong transactional accounting background, with experience in foreign currency
- Manufacturing industry experience is a strong advantage
- Proficient with MYOB
