Contracted Tutor Roles - $78 per hour (invoiced directly to parents)
SunArts is a comprehensive and progressive extra-curricular performing arts program at Suncoast Christian College offering specialist dance, drama and music lessons for students from beginners to advanced levels. SunArts is seeking two passionate and skilled Instrumental Music Tutors to join our thriving music community in 2026. We currently have vacancies for:
- Specialist Drums Tutor (up to 3 days per week)
- Specialist Strings Tutor - violin, viola, cello
These are contracted tutor positions where you will invoice families directly at the set rate of
$78 per hour. SunArts is known for its warm, supportive team culture and its commitment to nurturing confident, capable young musicians from
Years 2-12.
About the Roles: 1. Specialist Drums Tutor You will deliver individual and paired drum kit lessons during the school day to students across Years 2-12. Suncoast has a strong contemporary music culture, with styles including rock, pop and gospel, with opportunities for students to extend into Latin genres. We are seeking a tutor who brings both technical skill and a passion for inspiring young drummers.
2. Specialist Strings Tutor You will teach violin, viola and cello to students from Years 2-12, through individual and paired lessons. The role also involves leading two small ensembles on the days you are on campus. While the College has a contemporary culture, we value strong traditional string pedagogy and offer opportunities for students to prepare for Eisteddfods, exams and College performances.
What You Will Bring: - Demonstrated experience teaching your specialist instrument(s)
- Ability to teach a wide age range (Years 2-12)
- Experience leading ensembles (strings position - preferred)
- A commitment to supporting each student's musical growth
- Current Queensland Blue Card (Working With Children)
- Public Liability Insurance
