Our specialist medical clinic is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team on a full-time basis from January 12th 2026. This role offers the opportunity to work within a busy, well-established practice primarily supporting two highly regarded colorectal surgeons. Our clinic is home to a dozen specialists and is built on a foundation of teamwork, compassion and a commitment to delivering excellence in every aspect of healthcare.
About the Role
As a key member of our administrative team, you will manage the day-to-day coordination of two specialists’ practices with a focus on ensuring a seamless, world-class patient experience. The role is full-time Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Managing the doctors’ schedules, patient appointments and surgical bookings
Providing fee estimates, processing payments, and issuing invoices
Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records
Managing incoming calls, emails, and patient enquiries with professionalism and care
Assisting with general administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and document preparation
Coordinating with hospitals and other healthcare providers as required
Managing the waiting room and ensuring a calm, welcoming environment
Supporting the specialists and practice manager with daily operational tasks
You will work closely alongside the practice manager, two other medical receptionists, an administration assistant, and two practice nurses, within a collaborative and supportive team environment.

You are a confident, reliable and well-organised professional with a passion for providing excellent patient service. You take pride in your presentation, communication, and attention to detail. You are willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role (specialist experience highly regarded)
Previous experience in a fast-paced customer service role
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with impeccable phone and email etiquette
Strong time management skills and multitasking ability
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
A proactive, team focused, can-do attitude
Experience with medical practice software (e.g. Genie, Clinic to Cloud, or similar)
