Chisholm is seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer for our People, Culture and Safety Serices Business Area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Commercial Lawyer, your key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and monitoring the contract management planning strategy (CMPS).
  • Guiding development of contract management plans.
  • Facilitating contract performance following legislative requirements and policies.
  • Managing probity and conflicts of interest.
  • Maintaining the contracts register, contract disclosure, and contract records.
  • Coordinating transition to any new contracts register and related systems (where required).
  • Regulating change (variations), renewals and transitions.
  • Ensuring the contract meets the organisation’s needs and delivers value for money.
  • Setting or monitoring deliverables (where required).
  • Setting or monitoring supplier performance against contract conditions (where required).
  • Managing risks, issues and disputes in consultation with relevant others .
  • Meeting with suppliers to discuss and manage expectations and requirements during high-risk negotiations as requested
  • Checking invoices and ensuring payment terms are followed.
  • Coordinating improvements and updates to Chisholm contract policies and templates.
  • Coordinating further internal legal or procurement advice as required.

ABOUT YOU

You are a highly motivated individual with excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications required for the role:

  • Bachelor of Laws, or a related degree in fields such as commerce and contracts management.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, Victorian procurement rules and policies, and compliance regulations.
  • Maintain a current practising certificate to practise law in Victoria
