Your Role as Driver Trainer
As the Driver Trainer for Community Transport Service (CTS), your role is pivotal in ensuring that community members have access to safe and reliable transportation services. You will work closely with a team of volunteers and oversee and be responsible for managing the fleet of vehicles used to provide transportation services to community members in need whilst maintaining a focus on safety and compliance which will contribute significantly to the success of our service.
You’ll enable community members to travel safely with greater independence by:
Developing and delivering training programs for volunteer drivers, covering safety, customer service, vehicle care and emergency procedures
Overseeing vehicle fleet maintenance to ensure all vehicles are safe, clean, and roadworthy
Supporting the Senior Coordinator with additional duties as required
Coordinating regular inspections, maintenance, and accurate record-keeping of the fleet
Staying up to date with industry standards and implement improvements to enhance service delivery
What We’re Looking For
Business related qualification and relevant experience; or significant relevant work experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience communicating with aged care and people living with a disability.
Well-developed people and relationship skills, with the ability to participate as a part of a team sharing information and supporting others, contributing to a positive work environment, and projecting a professional image.
Commitment to safety, compliance, and upholding high standards in fleet and volunteer management
Proactive problem-solving attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
A Valuable Addition, Yet Not a Must-Have!
A general knowledge and understanding of the human service sector.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would be highly regarded.
Prior experience in driver training, volunteer management or fleet management is highly beneficial.
Essential Requirements
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
