About the Role
MSS Security is looking for a professional and dependable Security Officer to join our team in a full-time, Monday to Friday position. This role is based in Newcastle and offers the rare benefit of a stable weekday roster (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) - no night shifts, weekends, or public holidays. You'll play a key role in maintaining site safety while supporting day-to-day operations in a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform internal and external foot patrols to ensure a safe and secure environment
• Greet visitors, provide assistance, and manage front-desk responsibilities professionally
• Monitor access control and issue visitor passes
• Respond to incidents and escalate as necessary, following site protocols
• Maintain logs and reports
• Work collaboratively with site management and other security team members

What We're Looking For

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Experience in either concierge or mobile/rover patrol roles (or both)
• Intermediate computer skills for reporting and access management
• A professional, customer-focused attitude
• Physically fit and alert with strong situational awareness
• Ability to adapt between active security duties and front-of-house responsibilities

Essential Requirements

• Australian Citizenship (due to site requirements)
• Valid NSW Security Licence
• Working with Children check
• Certificate II in Security Operations (or higher)
• Current First Aid & CPR Certification
• Willingness to undergo and pass a National Criminal History Check
