Your Position:

In this hands-on operational role, you will undertake project management and planning activities to support the successful execution of Council's construction and maintenance projects. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to project timeframes, maintaining quality standards, and manage budgetary constraints effectively.

Join our team and play a pivotal role in driving the seamless implementation of projects, contributing to support the amenity and liveability of Burwood LGA.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:-

  • Lead the planning and design of infrastructure projects including managing all approvals required, concept designs, investigations, feasibility reports, DA applications, procurement of consultants and contractors, preparation of contract and project documentation, cost planning, communicating and engaging with all stakeholders, administering project control groups and providing reports and communications as required.
  • Supervise contractors/consultants acting as Site Manager, ensuring WH&S is adhered to through conducting audits to review quality and compliance.
  • Manage the preparation and evaluation of all necessary specifications and procurement documentation for all allocated infrastructure projects.
  • Manage project risk including assessing and reporting on all risks/issues and implement risk mitigation strategies and plans.
  • Analyse and interpret information and utilise Council's Asset Management Systems to determine prioritisation of works by condition, risk and cost benefit analysis.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets to meet project, operational and strategic financial obligations and targets.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
  • Demonstrated contemporary experience in preparation of design and construction documentation relating to civil and open space infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in Project and contract management of multifaceted Civil works projects.
  • Experience in Civil Engineering surveying including the use of Total station.
  • Understanding in computer aided design and drafting (CAD) principles and practices, including Civil Cad and Auto Cad.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian road and drainage design standards.
