About the Position

This position has the primary responsibility if assisting in the provision of library programs and events for adults and young people to ensure delivery of an innovative library service that meets the needs of the community. Within their allocated portfolio the Adult and Youth Programs Officer will help to achieve a range of operational outcomes by:

  • Developing and providing specialist services in library programs and adult and youth programming.
  • Evaluating adult and youth library programs and events and implementing changes to ensure they continually meet community needs and organisational priorities.
  • Delivering the services of the portfolio in accordance with legislation, adopted strategies and plans to meet community needs and organisational priorities.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and best practice.
  • Complying with the requirements of the Library Board of Western Australia Act (1951) and associated regulations are met.

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in library studies, community development, education, event management or similar.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • High level of commitment to customer service.
  • The ability to develop and maintain relationships, partnerships and networks working with people from all ages and backgrounds.
  • Advanced competency with Microsoft Office Suite, financial systems and Library Management Systems.
  • Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • A current National Police Clearance.
