Our client is a leading manufacturer in the industrial tooling sector, known for delivering high-quality components and solutions to clients across a wide range of industries. Based in Bayswater, we are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead and support our skilled workshop team.
About the Role:As the Production Supervisor, you'll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in our workshop, supervising a team of approximately 10 technicians and tradespeople. With your solid hands-on experience-ideally as a toolmaker or in a similar industrial manufacturing environment-you'll bring a practical, problem-solving mindset to production challenges while ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
Responsibilities:Lead, mentor, and support a team of skilled machinists and operators
Plan, coordinate and monitor daily workshop operations and production schedules
Ensure quality standards and production targets are met
Assist in hands-on work when needed, especially with tooling and machine setup
Promote and enforce safety procedures and best practices
Liaise with management and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and resource planning
Provide training, feedback, and performance reviews for team members
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a manufacturing environment
Background as a toolmaker, machinist, or similar hands-on trade is essential
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to lead by example, problem-solve on the floor, and keep production on track
A commitment to workplace safety and quality assurance
Forklift licence and relevant trade qualifications are advantageous
