We are seeking a motivated and reliable Cook to join our clients team on a two-month contract from Friday, 29 November 2025 to Friday, 30 January 2026.
This role supports a community drop-in centre that provides essential services to men and women experiencing homelessness and or unemployment, including those living with mental health issues, drug and alcohol concerns, gambling problems, and chronic homelessness.
The Cook will prepare nutritious meals, follow established recipes, and ensure food safety and hygiene standards are consistently met. This position also involves planning and preparing a special Christmas Dinner, to be held in the week prior to Christmas Day an important annual event celebrating community connection and care.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare meals in line with the daily menu and established recipes.
- Adhere to food safety and health regulations, including HACCP principles.
- Inspect and test food before serving to ensure quality and safety.
- Assist with kitchen cleaning, stock management, and meal delivery.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen and dining area.
- Document incidents, complaints, or accidents in line with safety procedures.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve service goals and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
- Plan, prepare, and coordinate the annual Christmas Dinner event, ensuring timely service and a welcoming, inclusive environment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and safety practices.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer service-oriented with strong attention to detail.
